It seems like it would be a bit of a faff to change it if the baptism is straight after. </p> <p>As for "original sin" etc the church has changed its view on infant baptism. It was one of the first things Pope Benedict XVI changed stating that it is indeed possible for unbaptised babies to go to heaven. </p> <p>I could never imagine anyone at church frowning on your baby for wearing white to church pre-baptism. DD wore a tiny white sundress and DS wore a white onesie and little gray slacks. It shouldn't matter as a matter of procedure--my LO didn't even have a gown, just a special outfit that he'd been given. Our parish is pretty conservative and no one said anything.
