@mrs. bird: LOL, if your uterus is going to shrivel and follow up, I would hope it would at least give you the courtesy of some more warning other than just a bit of mid-cycle spotting ;)

Seriously, though, I hope you can figure it out. I know that spotting can be nothing, but it can also be a sign of more serious things, like @Septca mentioned. But I'm still choosing to be positive for you :)

It can be all kinds of things - low progesterone during LP, implantation, irritated cervix, endmetriosis (that was my cause)... but let's say implantation and push you to POAS!

This cycle I had very slight spotting I only saw once when I wiped, then 2 days later I started spotting more consistently for another 2 days and then I eventually got my full period. I have low progesterone so that's likely what my spotting was all about.

Spotting can occur for all kinds of reasons, so there is no reason to panic yet! :) Like others said, could be implantation!

@mrs. bird: haha I'm right there with you on the doom and gloom. As for other reasons, like @LovelyPlum said it could be a sign of low progesterone... I have crazy low progesterone (8-9 day LP without meds, level of 3 at 7dpo) and I spot in the day or two before AF.

@Shutterbug: haha. I haven't entertained that idea, I've become very doom & gloom... Spotting now means my uterus is gonna shrivel up & fall out, lol. Are there other reasons ppl spot though? Like could even more things possibly be wrong with my cycle??

Low progesterone can also be a cause of spotting during the LP, though I never really had it. (But I'm with @Shutterbug: I hope it's implantation ;) )

@mrs. bird: haha ladyyyyy you know we're all just gonna say it's implantation bleeding and omfg test now!! ;) but seriously, slight spotting at 8dpo can be a good thing!

Random spotting question. Today is CD31, I have long, irregular cycles & this is an unmediated cycle of NTNP. I think I Oed between CD17-20, nov 6-9, we DTD CD19, nov 8, but the was the only time that wk. Sunday, CD28, I noticed I had a little spotting when I went to the bathroom, only enough I could see it when I wiped, not enough for a panty liner. Thought may I misinterpreted O signs & AF was on her way, but that was it, didn't progress into anything. I was expecting her between today & Saturday. Odd. Don't have my usual PMS feeling.

If you've had random spotting, not as a prelude to AF, do you know what caused it? Is that worrisome? What could cause it?
