Me! Let me link you to my old threads. We used it to buy us time for my 20 mo son. He has 8 cavities now ( :crying: darn genetics) and it's been great for stopping the progression of the cavities! The side affect is it turns them black which wouldn't be a big deal for molars. Ours are on his front teeth so it's more unfortunate, but worth the ability to prevent general anesthesia!

@yellowbird: Thank you for this! I've been worried. We have two appointments scheduled and then a follow up x-ray appointment to make sure the cavity stopped. Our doc warned us about it turning black. Luckily it's on a top back molar so out of sight.

I highly recommend it! I use it on patients quite often. You literally paint it on for a few seconds, let it dry. You usually do 2-3 treatments spaced out over several month and the cavity will stop growing. The cavity will turn very black though until you get it restored.

My 4 year old has a cavity in her upper back molar. Since she could barely sit still for a routine cleaning, our pediatric dentist is suggesting something called Silver Diamine Flouride to STOP the cavity until they can properly fill it. They paint something on the tooth to stop the cavity. At this point, she'd have to be put under to fill it and I would prefer not to go that route. Has anyone used this Silver Diamine Flouride procedure on their LO?
