It is always done together with FSH and tells more of a complete picture. For progesterone, there is no sense in doing it until 7 days after you ovulate (or something like that - my memory is fuzzy). The purpose of the progesterone test is to see if you are ovulating on your own and producing enough progesterone. I am surprised that progesterone and prolactin aren't included. What were you tested for? </p>
