@autumnlove: Rats, that was one I was looking at because it seemed reasonably priced and had some of the stay dry stuff built in (plus I could stuff my hemp inserts in there). LO doesn't seemed to be phased even when she's lying in wet jammies and wet sheets, so maybe she'd do okay. I still put her in the heavy wetter category though when she's nursing a lot at night which is her usual.

@Cole: Any suggestions on places with good return policies for fitteds? My main go-to places don't offer that with fitteds for some reason.

I used Thirsties Fab Fitted in the past and we liked them with Thirsties covers. I can't use them anymore because LO 2 is a heavy wetter now and she feels the wetness (entire diaper gets soaked) and wakes up..

I don't have any experience with this that would help you but maybe try to buy from somewhere with a generous return policy. If you decide you're willing to invest X in diapers you can try an option or two and then exchange it if it doesn't work. Having that option might at least get you an extra try with your husband!

@avivoca: I have a Kissaluvs and I have to add a soaker to make it absorbent enough - just want to make you aware. (I experimented with Imagine one size, Kissaluvs, and Sustainablebabyish. Imagine and SBish come with a snap-in soaker insert but Kissaluvs does not.)

I have two GMD fitted diapers. They are cotton diapers, and like other cotton diapers, you have to wash/dry them six times before you use them. Personally, I don't like them as overnights because they get so wet and the only way we don't leak is if I use a hemp doubler under the flap and between the diaper and cover. BUT, I am interested in trying Kissaluvs and Thirsties fitted diapers.

I went to fitteds because of this issue. I'd recommend trying the Nicki's diapers one (Imagine one size bamboo fitted) as it isn't too expensive (at 18 months I don't use it regularly as it barely fits, but it was great for a long time). I also really like the Nicki's diapers (Imagine one size) covers. I'd say you could probably get away with the 4.0 as a cover just to test it but you'd probably want 2-3 regular covers if you do stick with it as your overnight solution as the 4.0 isn't truly designed to be used that way (you might have extra bulk, leaks if it doesn't fit perfectly over the fitted and the fitted is saturated, and/or prematurely wear out the 4.0 elastic.

I did try Rumparooz pocketd as an overnight solution and they were moderately better than my 4.0s, but the fitteds have been bulletproof. We now have a few of the Sustainable Babyish Happy Little Clouds size 2 but they're a bit pricey.

Okay this is a follow up to my overnight CD question. I talked with my husband and he is getting annoyed by my stressing and futzing over all the CD details so he said we should try one more overnight option and then go to disposables at night (which I don't want to do!).

I was thinking about trying another pocket diaper at night (Rumparooz) but it seems like fitteds are the best for over nights. Could I use my 4.0 shell as a cover for a fitted? I would just like to make this as simple as possible. Any fitteds that people like and aren't too pricey? If I knew for sure it would work I'd be willing to pay more. I feel like the Bummies Dimple looks great but is a lot of money for one. LO is used to the stay dry feel of the 4.0s so I'm not sure if I need to use a fitted with that (like the Thirsties Duo) or if that is contributing to the leak problem too (delayed absorption).

On the bright side - she only had 2 MOTN feeds last night and woke up dry! If only that was every night :)
