@mrs. bird: I use Nutured by Nature, they are $27 per month for 4 packs. They are made by the same company who makes Kroger's Natural diaper.

@Coco Bee: I bought a few Lotus Bumz from a deal site... Looking forward to trying then when we start CDing! They look pretty similar to BG 4.0s. Any tips?

We love it! LO is 7 1/2 months old and we've been cd'ing him since his circ healed and his cord fell off. We use bg 4.0's, elementals, dinkledooz and charlie bananas. We also have 2 bamboo fitteds that we sometimes use for night time inside a flip cover.
We do laundry every 2 days.
He's bf and ff and the diaper laundry hasn't gotten any scarier, he's also on solids now. I was dreading the smell of solid diapers but honestly, I think solid poops in disposables smell worse.
My husband loves cloth diapers and changes a majority of them, he also sprays, stuffs and launders them! :)

We also chose cloth for cost and health reasons.

@pastemoo: Agreed! He's never had a splosion so that is a consolation. At one point I was doubling inserts during the day and that seemed to solve the problem - but then none of his clothes fit! Maybe I should try some hemp inserts... but I've already spent sooo much $$ trying to make them work!

I love it 95% of the time, sometimes when I use Gro-Via diapers on vacations, etc I think it is so much easier or if she has a large poop & it's messy in her cloth....but I really love cloth & wouldn't change to disposables! I actually find stuffing & putting away the fluff laundry to be relaxing & don't mind that part at all.

@Mrs. Superhero: Oh, I did too! I did sooo much research. I even went to a cloth diaper store to check them out. I read reviews from at least five different websites before choosing a diaper. I even bought two stashes to be sure I liked at least one.

I dunno... must be my kid because EVERY diaper I have ever tried leaks on him. EVER diaper.

I like it. I'm cheap so I hate spending money on disposables, it just feels like throwing money away when I already have my diapers. This time of year I like how they look when she's in only a onesie, feels like part of her outfit.

I'm happy I did a lot of research before picking my diapers, because I've seen quite a few brands that I think would have made me crazy.

Oh, and the laundry is no big deal to me, but i don't have to stuff mine and I don't do anything fancy in the wash. I just chuck them in and push all the buttons.

@MrsHotDog: I have the organic pads that snap into the shells. The pads just get so stiff and seem really uncomfortable for my LO.... I tried stripping them but they still feel like cardboard!

I also bought the Grovia diaper rash stick and my LO had a skin reaction. I tried it again after the rash went away and she had the same reaction. I called their customer service since it was a $14 stick and they basically told me tough luck and blamed it on the way I wash my diapers. I asked if I could send it back for a refund or store credit and they refused, they said it was opened so they could not resell it.. I will never buy another Grovia product again!

@cvbee: I have looked into getting a fitted for nighttime. They cost a bit (about $20/diaper) but they are sooo absorbent. I haven't used one personally, but if you get one in bamboo and especially hemp, then you would probably never have a leaking problem.

@cvbee: I use bamboozles fitteds with a flip cover at night, Sawyer only about 1/2 soaks it, even over 11 hours. I wouldn't have bought them myself, but I got them free from my SIL, and they are really handy night diapers (but a little bulky, so I never use them during the day).

I'm loving them, especially now that we went over our future budget and the baby pretty much costs us no money. (Breastfed and cloth diapered).

Re: favourite diapers, ours is BG and we also dislike FB, but mostly because they are annoyingly small to stuff (and I even have long skinny hands). We had a newborn stash, and then bought one of about 5 different brands, which we used every now and then as he was growing out of the newborn stash. That helped us to decide what brand to get for the rest of the stash.

I'm worried that when he's not EBF that I'll start disliking it. We do have a diaper sprayer for when that time comes, but I'm still worried.

I do laundry every 2 or 3 days. I only have 2 overnight soaker pads, so if I wait for the 3rd day, i'm asking for a leak for sure, even if I double-stuff.
I'm also worried that he'll pee too much overnight one day. He's only 3 months, and already fully soaks a BG liner plus a soaker, so we get leaks overnight about once a week, and I'm thinking he might start leaking every night. I'm worried that I'll be one of those 'sposies for night time' people.

I did use 2 packs of newborn diapers in the hospital (we were in for a while). And then I gave the other one I was gifted to a friend. I was going to use sposies when we went on a road trip, but DH insisted that we just ask to use the laundry room of the people we were staying with. So, other than the hospital, we still haven't used disposables. And I had a diaper cake given to me, so I have lots of sposies kicking around.

we love it , we use freetime by bum genius and they are great, they dry very fast and never leak. It was tough in the beginning but now I enjoy it; as soon as LO gets home from day care I rip of her disposable diaper and put on a cloth one. my only regret is not finding a daycare that accepted cloth diapers, so LO has to wear disposables at daycare.
Also when we were doing cloth full time we only did laundry twice a week since we have 24 diapers, so it wasnt constant laundry.

@Coco Bee: health was what started me on cloth too. My mom always told me that she didn't want plastic touching my tushy, and that stuck with me. But now a days you can find good disposables, you just have to pay for them.

I LOVE CDing! We use disposables for travel (because I am too lazy to pack all the CD stuff for trips), and it drives me crazy how much poop gets on his clothes with disposables. I rarely have a pee leak (maybe every few days). I LOVE FB diapers, it is funny how different diapers work for different babies!
