You do exactly as we do (same detergent too) and we have staining too. I don't worry about it since the diaper is covered. We will start putting them outside to dry and sun soon though since it's warming up.

@Mrsbells: When you add the bleach, do you add it to the load with the covers and everything, or just the inserts?

Totally normal to have minor staining like that. The sun doesn't really have to be out (you know you can get sunburn on a cloudy day) so go ahead and "sun" them even if it isn't a sunny day.

we would hang them in the sunlight to bleach and every other month we add a little bleach to the load

My routine is:
-cold wash cycle with a dash of detergent
-hot wash cycle with full dose of detergent, with extra rinse
-dryer dry inserts, hang dry covers (inside but where exterior light comes in)

P.S. I didn't think All Free&Clear was CD safe? Just something to check. May not affect staining, but might hinder absorbency as you go along.

ETA: And yes, we have minor staining with our routine too. I've also found that the stained ones fade as they get washed more too. But I've noticed the stains popping up more when I forget to add the dash to my cold wash...maybe it's just coincidence though.

I find that putting the inserts out in the sun while wet does the best job of bleaching out any stains. I'm sure there are other stain removers out there but we just go the sunning route since it's free!

We started cloth diapering last week and so far we love it. My only question is that after washing, some of them already have *faint* staining. D is 12 weeks and EBF, so his poops are mustard/green in color. I do a cold soak, hot wash w/All Free and Clear, and cold rinse. Now that the weather is (supposedly) getting warmer finally, I'm anxious to start hanging them outside to help naturally bleach out the stains. But short of that, any other tips? Am I missing a step?
