I found FB one size fit my long and lean baby the best ( I just made sure to adjust the elastics as small as possible). I never got a good fit with apple cheeks, AMP were OK, but not great, and I found grovia AIO's to gap at the legs. A couple WAHM brands work well as well (Ella bella bum for one).

My babe is long and lean (just checked her stats at 4 months and she was 26.75" and 13lb 15oz) and we have loved the BG 4.0s! We started using them at 4 weeks when she was about 9.5 lbs. we kept them on the lowest rise until maybe 6 months as that controls the leg holes and then the other snaps keep them close to her tummy. Only had leak issues when we switched the rise until her legs filled out. Otherwise, totally happy!

Wow!!! She is long an lean! My suggestion would to be try out a couple of AppleCheeks. In my opinion the fit is incomparable to any other diaper I've used (not including wool).
Where abouts are you? I could mail you a couple size 1's to test out? LMK!
From being on one of the AC FB groups it seems everyone raves about the fit on tiny babes to chunky monkeys like my LO. To give an idea the size one fit our LO from birthweight to 18lbs.

Grovia AIO are very narrow. Also Blueberry has sized diapers that are really nice and relatively narrow.

What about BG 4.0?

At 6m my girlie was 27.5" and is a little string bean still (though not much taller at 11m!), we still do them up near the tightest, and have never had a leak! They are so adjustable with all the layers of snaps.

@pastemoo: We tried Grovia and Kissaluvs fitteds + covers and they were also just.. enormous on her. But maybe we'll need to try again.

@LovelyPlum: Hmmm I'll ask about those!

Clearly, I have no experience, but what about something like Applecheeks? They have lots of snaps that you can adjust to be looser at the top and tighter at the bottom. Do you think something like that might work?

@JoJoGirl: She wears Sunbaby dipes! We already had the sized & prefolds for our nb stash so we just wore them longer than we originally expected. :)

Wool covers.
In general I am a fan of covers that are separate from whatever goes inside--more versatile for many baby sizes.
I also here gDiapers is good for lean babies (but I don't know from experience)

@aprk: Ummmmm they gave us like 9 diapers and I can't remember all of them. BG Elementals and Freetimes, Fuzzibunz (I think), Grovia, and a couple of others... I should dig up the receipt.

@runsyellowlites: She's already 4 months so we def aren't going to invest in a "transition" stash at this point. What did she use for OS?

Fuzzibunz perfect size were great for the period that our OS didn't fit (until ~ 4mths as P was is the 3% for weight & 13 for height). That & prefolds with covers. :)

Welp, here we are with a 4 month old still in disposables. This is SO not what we planned!!

To give you an idea what "long and lean" means in my house, LO had her 4 month ped appt yesterdayand clocked in at 10th percentile for weight (12.5#) and 83rd for height (25.5"). This might help explain why every CD we've tried on her has been a leaky disaster... her thighs just do not fill them out.

We are going to do ANOTHER experiment-to-own this weekend from a local CD store. Any tips from other CD moms with the same problem? We are REALLY hoping to do OS/AIOs for various reasons, but the OS just might be too big on her for a long time.

Thoughts?
