Yes, thanks for checking back :-) I called my doctor and they had me go into L&D to get checked out (since it was right before the holidays and they were closing). The hospital said the baby looked great and I wasn't in labor so they sent me home. The nurse thought it could have been a mixture of the baby dropping and putting pressure on the cerrix as well as the cervical check.
But I haven't had bleeding like that since then.

hmmm. did everything turn out okay? that sounds a bit weird. i spotted a tiny bit randomly during the 1st trimester and my doctor told me to come in right away - she wanted to make sure it wasn't coming from the cervix....

I'm not a doctor, but period level bleeding and spotting aren't the same. Can you go back to get checked?!

As an L&D RN... I think it sounds like a bit much. But that's just my opinion. It's normally just "spotting" not actual bleeding.

This is really interesting. In the UK they don't routinely do a pelvic exam until you present at the hospital for delivery. The first time they check your cervix is to see if you're actually in labour!

@eupenmalmody: That makes me feel better :-) And hopefully it won't be nearly as bad next week.

I had that after my first cervical check 2 weeks ago. I bled everywhere and the doctor ended up giving me a hospital pad to wear. She said that if I continued to bleed after 3 days to call of if I was bleeding heavily that I was bleeding through a pad an hour to call. I stopped bleeding "fresh" blood after 24 hours but continued to bleed dark/brown blood for another 2 days. It stopped entirely by day 3. I just had my 2nd cervical check yesterday and bled just a teeny bit.

Wow, that would kinda concern me as well. I think my OB always used to ask if I was soaking through a heavy pad per hour. Anything less than that they weren't really concerned about.

So I had my first cervical check yesterday and the doctor warned that I might spot a little. I'm not sure what his definition of "spotting" is, but I've been bleeding like I have my period for the past 24 hours and when I called his office I was told it's "normal". Anyone else have this problem?
