Thanks ladies!

I know for certain I'm not leaking urine. My uncertainty is if it's cervical fluid or amniotic fluid.

@Catomdoo: haha lucky for you it smells like new baby smell! to me it smells like very mild semen? gross i know. so MAYBEeeee it really is cervical fluid? but is just weird, it is pretty constant trickles. I have had cervical fluid during the pregnancy and is usually thick and light greenish. this one is definitely clear and very runny, just stickier than water.

With my first baby, my water did not break, they had to break it for me when i was about 9 cm dilated. ahh, I'm so nervous. I talked to my doctor, she asked me to put on a new underwear and a pad and if it soaks or a good portion of it gets wet, then call her....I'll update later so in case anyone is in the same situation knows :)

@Snowybreeze: With my second me water broke. It broke while I was holding my daughter, but it felt like I peed my pants a little. It wasn't a lot and wasn't too consistent, but my doc sent me to L&D and they did a test. I never felt a single contraction! I was a repeat C-section, and it took about four hours from when my water broke to the C-section and I never felt a single contraction!
With my third, I thought my water broke, but it was just cervical fluid. My doc still told me to go in and get it checked out.

Good luck!!!

@Snowybreeze: I had a small leak before going into labor, but contractions started pretty immediately. I only leaked a small amount one time, so no one thought I was in labor. Smell it lol. It smells very sweet like new baby smell! Yes I made my husband sniff my undies to make sure it wasn't pee...he was thrilled!

I forgot to mention, no contractions (at least none that I was feeling) either time, and I was barely dilated (1 cm) both times.

My water broke first with both of my babies. No gushing, just little amounts that I couldn't control. My second one actually started with a little more of a small gush when I went to pee, but after that it was more of a leaking.
With my first I actually had no idea, although I may have been in denial because I as only 35.3 so I thought it was too early. It first broke around 4 am, and I walked around with a huge pad on all day until I went for my regular check up and my doctor determined it was my water that broke.

I waited a whole day because I really didn't think it was my waters, but when it was 24 hours later and still happening (with no contractions) I went to the hospital. They confirmed it was my waters and sent me off for an induction because it had been over 24 hours.

I had lots of cervical fluid 3 days before my water broke. I went to L&D and they checked everything, said it was cervical fluid and sent me home. It was pretty runny, like if I stood up or switched positions I would feel a trickle. When my water actually broke there was a pop and then a gush.

I had leaking amniotic fluid at 40 weeks - it wasn't a gush or even a trickle - just a consistent feeling of dampness in my underwear. Not even enough to soak through to my clothes though. The hospital were able to very easily test to see if it was amniotic fluid. Good luck! :goodluck:

please share your experience, going with my instinct I think I'm leaking amniotic fluid. It isn't a gush, but things I've read said that's a misconception and leaking doesn't always have to be a gush especially if baby is really low and head blocking the cervix.

I feel no contraction or pain as of now, just the normal Braxton hicks.
I'm waiting a few more.hours to.see if I'm gEttinger some constant leaks to be sure.
and just cuddling and looking at my toddler one last time before the new addition to the family.
ah! Feeling extremely emotional.
