My nephew is just like this, and it gives me major anxiety when he is around my kids and I'm not there, so I understand. I have no awesome advice because it's just a sucky situation to be in, just wanted to offer sympathy.

Although if it was the kid's lunch box, I personally would want the school to tell his parents they have to buy him a soft lunchbox that he can't injure other children with!

@LuLu Mom: my husband actually saw him throw the lunchbox ... He was pretty shaken and let the teacher know. The teacher immediately pulled the boy aside to talk to him, but he's only 3 so IDK how much he understood :T I just hate to be that parent that seems like an anxious ball of nerves :(

Did the teacher tell you he missed her by an inch or did you witness this act of aggression? I would bring it up again to the teacher in January and ask if the school has thought any further about a long term plan since it does take a lot of attention away from the other kids, maybe having another aid come in and assist with him? I guess in my opinion there is a mean kid in every class/every school so it's just a part of the process and if the school is aware there is very little that can be done I hope his parents are aware and are working with him at home.

My almost 3-yo is in a twice weekly morning preschool program. There are a total of ten kids in the class, with one main teacher and one other assistant/helper.

We've been there since sept and for the most part, it's been a great experience. The only thing that's been an issue is one little boy who is dealing with aggression issues. He pushes, shoves, hits, throws - after my daughter was slapped across the head, the teacher acknowledged that he needed extra supervision and now most of her morning is spent closely watching and following him. Shes very good about supervising him, but it really takes away from the other children since she has to pay so much attention to this one child. If she doesn't watch him, though, it inevitably causes a problem - for example, two weeks ago, he was standing on a loft-structure and threw a metal lunchbox down, narrowly missing my LO's head by an inch :(

This is causing me so much anxiety. I get nervous dropping her off in the AM not knowing if this child will somehow hurt her again. He's attempted to push her off the slide, too. He doesn't just pick on her- it's any child around him.

Just not really sure how to deal with this ... I'm getting anxious with school starting back up next week :(
