Teething would be my suspicion too, though I did notice my daughter's cry often changed a bit in the first year

@merbaby14: my first thought is teething. I hope someone else can help more, if it is something else. Mine started doing the raspberries thing and kind of rolling his tongue when he started teething. To be 100% honest, I didn't put 2 & 2 together until I saw a tooth actually out.

All of a sudden today my sons hard cry has taken on a new sound and I'm completely wondering why. Instead of an open mouth wail, he began keeping his mouth more closed, putting his tongue between his gums/lips almost like he's blowing raspberries, and kind of screams through his more closed mouth which makes a more muffled noise.

I noticed it first this morning when he fought a nap for a few minutes then he just did it now after being super fussy in the bath which is unusual.

My first suspicions is teething- could this have anything to do with it? Anyone else ever experience this?

LO is 5 months and seemed totally fine otherwise today. I've been wondering if he's teething anyway bc everything goes in his mouth and he loves sucking on his cotton blankets whenever possible. Don't see anything coming close to popping thru though.

It's just the weirdest thing so I was curious to see if anyone's ever heard of this happening before.
