@ShootingStar: I get some of this to. My care providers schedule the next visit at the current one (up until they are weekly, then they just set them for the same day & time each week).

I'd rather not use my vacation or sick time at all for midwife appointments, but they don't seem to get that if I'm using leave for non-urgent reasons I have to schedule it at least 6wks in advance.

I was on hospital bed rest at 33 weeks and then on modified bed rest at home (working part time as I have a sedentary job) from 35 weeks on. I returned to work FT, but I changed to working from home two afternoons a week.

I worked PT up until the day I delivered (c-section). Had I not been on the bed rest, I would have been working FT.

I worked full time at the office right up until my due date. I was induced 10 days later but had stopped working on my due date. I now work part-time from home nights and weekends and care for LO during the weekdays.

None of your options in the poll fit me. I worked full time until about 2 weeks before my due date when I got put on bed rest. Then I went back to work full time after maternity leave.

I found pretty much all of my healthcare providers were pretty...disrespectful? about the fact that I had to work. I was asked occasionally if I had stopped working during pregnancy (uh no, need my paycheck to live, I don't work for fun :-/) and I was expected to drop everything to see them any time of day. They always made me feel like crap that I valued not getting fired.

I worked full time until 41 weeks pregnant. But unfortunately I lost my job at that point (very sudden/unexpected) and I haven't found a job yet. So I've been SAH for the last 7.5 mo.

@fussygal: I know what you mean! I'm part time too (30 hours/week) and finally had the discussion a few months ago with my employer that I'd like to keep doing PT indefinitely. Originally I thought I would do it a year then go back full time, but my working part time has worked so well for our family that I really have no desire to go back full time.

I worked FT (from home) until a week before my due date, 16 weeks off, then returned at PT (60%). I've been PT for five months and it's a great balance for our family. I think my employers are ok with me staying PT for as long as I need, although we've never discussed how long and I fear it will come up at my review next week.

I think they're allowing me to not follow the manual because they're afraid I'll quit :silly: I dont work Fridays lol, we ran the #s for me to work on Fridays is pointless bc we'd have to pay for full time daycare instead of part time

I worked from home until a week past my due date. I took a 12-week maternity leave and then worked in the office three days per week and from home two days per week until my son was six months old. Now I am working from home one day per week. I have maintained a full time schedule though.

Full time before and after E. I'm asking to drop to 32 hours/week in May (considered full time at my company. I ain't losing my benefits). Probably for a year.

I just want to cut ourselves some slack for a bit. I can get off at 3, work out, start dinner, and our evenings will be less hectic.

I worked up until 6 weeks before my due date. When I went on maternity leave, my plan was to take 6 months off and then go back at 80%. That didn't work out and I ended up resigning 6 weeks after my son was born and I stayed at home for 2 years. I returned to work full time just after my son's second birthday.

I worked FT until right before my due date, took my 12 weeks, and returned FT as i was the breadwinner at that point.

There were six of us pregnant at the same time however, and only two of us came back full time. Of the other 4, one quit to stay home, one came back at 32 hours until quitting a few months later but finding another job elsewhere, one went to 20 hours and the other to 30 hours.

With this pregnancy, I am now at 30 hours since DH is now in a paid position, and I plan to continue that schedule as long as possible, pre and post baby.

2/3 of the way through my first pregnancy, but I plan to work ft right up to the end. I'll have 9-10 months of maternity/parental leave, and then will return to work ft, at which point DH will take 2-3 months parental leave. He'll also take a few weeks of annual leave at the beginning, and then a few weeks mid-way through the year for a small vacation. We both make good salaries (about the same, actually), but enjoy our careers and both plan to work ft after returning to work.

My husband is going to be a SAHD now with LO turning 4 months. I had 8 weeks mat leave and my husband took 1 month off after that. LO has been in daycare for the last month. It has been a good experience but we are going to try having one of us stay at home and since I am the breadwinner, my husband will stay at home. If my husband was the breadwinner, I would try staying at home or working part time.

Worked full time up until the day I went into labor. The plan was to take 2 months maternity leave and go back part time for 1 month until going back full time. That 3rd month is now over and I'm staying part time (35 hours/week instead of 40). My mom watches my daughter and it's been a challenge for her so she really pushed me to not go back full time. If my daughter was in daycare I would be at work full time.
