@LazyLightning: my lo would do the same thing. A friend showed me how to roll up a big blanket and safety pin it to the crv wedge. It kept LO from Sliding and Rollin around. Would have never thought to do that myself!

@LazyLightning: it's a lot. When I pull anyone off milk protein I pull them off soy too. It's too confusing otherwise and then you get into chronic formula shifting and kids end up on super expensive formulas they don't need.

@LazyLightning: it sounds very similar to my son who was milk and soy intolerant. Now at 2 he can do milk but can't digest soy. We ultimately had success with neocate formula.

@matador84: oh that's a whole nother problem! Even the slightest wedge and she manages to turn herself around upside down so her head is facing downward on the slope! Weirdo wiggle worm. And this is while swaddled.

@Mrs. Jacks: 50%?! Wow! I thought I read 5 and I did not know about it taking a few days...

Are you able to use a crib wedge or keep LO propped while sleeping if it is reflux?

About 50% of kids who are intolerant to milk protein are also intolerant to soy. It takes a few days to show up.

@LazyLightning: LO ended up on zantac for the reflux which helped her so much! And she was on that til she was about 5 months old. She still spit up but no pain so no crying. I know you are suppose to wait 2 weeks between formulas but honestly there was a couple that we tried that she screamed so bad that we consulted with our Dr and she said it would be ok to switch sooner. We only did that twice once was after a week and once was after a day (really bad!).

I would make an appointment right away and ask for a referral to a Ped GI Specialist. The last thing you need is for your LO to start associating eating with pain, and decide to limit her eating to reduce her pain. And it does sound a lot like reflux (my LO had it too), and I had better luck with the Ped GI than with LO's regular Ped.

@pinkb: I think reflux but not sure what else to do, you know? This is formula #3 and we do the upright eating and holding up after eating... How often did you switch formulas when you did?

What about reflux? When our LO was waking up every 30 min and crying nonstop, spitting up and coughing it was caused by reflux. She also had gas and we did the drops as well. I didnt like switching formuals but we ended up trying 5 differnt ones. We ending up on a partially broken down formula that is easier on her tummy, Gerber soothe.
ETA we also had to start holding LO upright for atleast 20 minutes after feeding her, which helped a lot.

So, we have gone from normal formula (first month) to gentlease (4-6 weeks) and now ProSobee (soy) since Friday. She is 7 wks today. Prior to the soy she was screaming when eating, spitting up a TON, and not sleeping for more than 30 min - an hour without waking up screaming. Clearly in pain. Switched to soy on dr's advice... And using gripe water, gas drops, and probiotic. That was Friday. She is pooing normally.

The transformation was immediate. She was so much better after the switch!! Then last night she woke up at 1:30 am and had turned back in to the baby I described above. Screaming/squealing, spitup, can't sleep well/soundly.

I guess my question is how long before calling the dr. again? I know 4 days isn't much time plus she could just have a tummy ache today. I feel like switching formula over and over too quickly might make her worse, too. Just not sure what to do. What would you do?
