@Ash: If you're not getting what you need from your doctor, could you change practices?

Also, I forgot to mention that I did have one cycle that was like 57 days or something, so I really think your body needs time to re-regulate itself.

@Ash: First I just want to say I am really sorry for what you are going through. When I had my miscarriage (around 5-6 weeks), my period didn't come back for a few months. After that my cycles varied from 30-60 days for about 9 months until I got pregnant again.

Sorry for the late response everyone! Thank you to everyone who responded!

@Jennimac: I can't imagine going through what you have. Experiencing a loss at 20 weeks plus the added hormonal/body changes would have drove me bonkers. I am already bonkers. :( Thanks for your advice. I'm so sorry for your loss!

@blackbird: I don't temp so I'm not sure if I'm o'ing or not so I bought some opks (not that that will tell me 100% either but it's worth a shot).

@ladybee: I'm sorry for your loss! My period finally came yesterday (only 4 days late) but it's usually like clockwork. I don't have the most understanding doctors office so I'm wondering if they will even check any levels. I just feel so out of whack. Thanks for your support! :)

@JamieLee: You're the reason I wrote this post. You made me feel slightly more normal knowing everything can be out of whack. :) So thank you for that. I bought some opks on amazon so hopefully we have good luck just like you did!

@sslm: Thank you! I expected my first period after everything to be way late and completely crazy but honestly, it's been the most normal. I think that's what so frustrating for me. I've never ever ever had a 34+ day cycle. Until now.

@savanarunner: It really does suck and I am so sorry you had to experience something so crappy. I wouldn't wish this upon anyone. :( I'm so grateful for the girls on this board.

@Alivoo01: Looks like our cycles are the same except 28 days is my normal and now it looks like 34 is. My loss was at 7 weeks but baby stopped growing at 4.

@Mrs.Someone: I agree!!! And I don't temp. We got pregnant on our wedding night and hadn't planned on trying to get pregnant til January but after we did and then lost it, I realized it's all I want now. Therefore, we're still in the beginning of trying considering we've only had 1 month of actually being able to (after taking 2 months off from my m/c). Such a crappy situation. But so much more common than I ever knew.

1st one was hella short for me - 28 days. Second one and those thereafter resumed normal schedule of 34 days. However, my loss was early on (6 weeks).

I'm only my second period out so I'm not much help. I hope you're able to sort things out. I know how frustrating this is on top of dealing with a m/c.

I had a missed miscarriage at just over 8 weeks. It took me 10 weeks just to get my period back!!!! Then I had my shortest cycle ever of 29 days, the next one I got pregnant but hadn't ovulated until really late, day 30 or something... my cycles were way weird.

Sorry you're going through this! I would definitely speak to your doctor about it, there might be something else going on.

@Ash: Our baby stopped growing and h/b stopped at 8 weeks, and I found out at 10. It was a "missed miscarriage" and it seemed my body wasn't going to miscarry naturally so I had a d&c. My cycles really lengthened out and I felt like they were heavier, shorter, and I had awful cramps the first day, like back to high school awful. I don't feel like they ever went back to being normal, but I wasn't super normal to begin with!

I finally used opks to get pregnant this time, and I think it made things a lot easier, because I O rather late in my cycle.

I think it's ok to be emotional. You need to let yourself grieve. I think time is the only thing that really helps. It's been a year since ours and I still get really sad about it. Hang in there girl. It'll happen for you again.

And totally check in with your doc. It's better to know something is wrong/off than not know.

@Ash: I too mc at 7 weeks on the dot, but I had a d&c. My cycles were super long and inconsistent afterwards but it turns out that I have PCOS and I didn't know it because I had been on bc and got pregnant right away off of bc. Go get your levels checked!!! Like @blackbird: I am on clomid now and hopeful that will work. Sorry I don't have anything else to offer except that short story and that I am so sorry. My due date is in 18 short days and I feel like I'm back at that moment when I found out our baby had stopped growing. BUT it did get so much better in between! Hang in there :(

On March 28, 2012, I had to be induced to deliver since we were so far along (20 weeks). My delivery took about 11 hours from start to finish. I ended having my milk come in 3 days after delivery and I dried up about a week later, with 2 days being absolutely horrible. I ended up starting my cycle again at exacly one month. From that point I had a 'regular' cycle length, but imagine my surprise when I 'started' again about a week later. We were on the road, coming from my sister's graduation and I had nothing. I had to wait in the bathroom for my aunt to buy me something. Thank goodness she was there. From that point on, I would have 'normal' periods that were maybe a few days longer than I used to have (30, 35, 32 day cycles) for the next few months. The last 3 months (Sept, Oct, and Nov) have felt the most like my previous cycles. I've had 26-28 day cycles with ovulation happening around CD 12-14. My doctor has me on an aspirin regimen. There has been some research to suggest that this helps with late term losses. As a result, I've felt like my periods have been super heavy. Like, stand and run to the bathroom because it's very heavy. This last cycle was the most normal one I've had since March.

It's taken 7 cycles to feel like I'm normal again. My body was really wacked up. It took about 5 cycles for my boobs to stop leaking at times and my hair finally stopped shedding in October from post-partum loss.

All I can say is that the hormones really jack up the body and your body can still be confused by all the changes going on. I know it's really hard to deal with and there are days that still affect me in such a hard way. It's not fair to have to deal with a loss and a crazy body that is out of control. That was one thing that I had trouble with--I couldn't control how my body was acting.

Hang in and there and I hope things start to normalize soon.

Mine were totally jacked up. My cycles went from being 30 days on the nose to suddenly 40-55 days. But I wasn't ovulating, either. My body never went back onto its pre-mc schedule, either time.

Good evening girls (& guys too)!

Just hoping someone can offer up some advice.

I'm 3 months post miscarriage and feel like my body is completely out of whack. My first period came right on target-28 days after the start of my m/c. Second period (last month) was the longest I've ever had at 33 days. Today marks cd32. My normal is 28 days. Did your cycles lengthen after you miscarried? Another thing I've noticed is within the last week I've had some intermittent pressure/mild pain in my pelvic area. Anyone have this before? I'm so confused. And emotional over everything. Anyone's advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

P.S I had a natural miscarriage at 7 weeks.
