I would! The only time I wouldn't is if there are medical history/issues.

Do it.

If you feel unsure about your current doctor/midwife, then make the switch.

For my first pregnancy, I switched practices @ 22 weeks. I left a OBGYN mega practice with 13 doctors to a small, loving OBGYN/midwife practice. I did more research and wanted to deliver at a specific hospital. Plus I didn't feel like I "clicked" with my original OBGYN (she asked me if I had any questions and before I even opened my mouth she started walking out the door.)

Go with your gut.

I switched at about 24 weeks and it was fine. I was stressed about it at the time, but in hindsight it wasn't a big deal. I had a bit of trouble getting my medical records transferred between OBs though. I think if you have a low risk pregnancy it should be ok.

I changed my OB at 29 weeks as I was not comfortable and it was the best decision! I was hesitant to change/rock the boat as it was so far along, but really that didn't make a difference in terms of the peace of mind it brought.

I did it! At 28 weeks. Mostly for your reason A. And my original doctor was closing their office closest to my house and no way was I traveling 1.5 on the subway every week in the 3rd trimester. i say go for it. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!

I did and so glad I did! I did it at 20-ish weeks right before I was supposed to have my anatomy scan. The old practice made it difficult for me (took forever to send my records) but the new one was ultra accommodating.
I just had a few bad experiences with the old practice. Too many details to type out but I didn't feel comfortable with them delivering me. And it was pretty far away.
I went to a much smaller practice that was only a couple of blocks from me and delivered at a hospital a couple of blocks from me. I walked to and from the doc and the hospital.
It's not that big of a deal to switch and it'll be worth it in the end if you're unhappy at the current place.

I switched from an OB to a midwife practice at 30 weeks. It was no big deal.

I did! my original OB had a practice where she was the only doctor, and even though I loved her, I hated her support staff and she would only deliver at a not-so-great hospital. I realized that there was a good chance that she may not be on call when I'm in labor, so why stay with her if she was the only part of her practice that I liked? I switched to a practice that has 4 female OBs and a midwife, and you see everyone throughout your pregnancy, so you will definitely know the doctor that delivers your baby, as one of them is always on call. Their hospital is also recently renovated and totally amazing in comparison to my original OB's hospital.

Would you?

Did you?

I'm considering this a) so I can deliver at the hospital my other doctor is at which is a better hospital, b) because although I think she's ok I don't love their office- I just started going there when I was on an HMO, and c) because I was less than thrilled with the doctor that delivered me last time (although I realize this can happen in any practice, so this is last on my list.)
