I changed OB at 30 weeks because I didn't click with her or her frontline staff (who were always too busy to be polite or helpful) & so was feeling increasingly anxious about the birth...best decision ever! New OB and staff were great. Here in Australia the system is different, but it ended up costing same as if I had stayed on. Only regret is all the money I paid her offices up until 30 weeks! Good luck!

Have you discussed the behavior with the doctor? She could be completely unaware. Hope you find good resolution soon.

I did at 28 weeks because my Dr was moving offices and I didn't want to travel really far during the 3rd trimester. It also meant going to a preferred hospital. If you can find someone that delivers where you want to gice birth I say go for it. . My new Dr reassured me that patients do it all the tIme. Make sure you get all your records, the new Dr will want to go through all of it. Best of luck in the rest of your pregnancy

I have a friend who just switched practices at 36 weeks pregnant. She'd had two caesarians, and she just assumed that she'd try to vbac with this one as she had last time. Well, they told her at 36 weeks that oh no, goodness, they don't do that. So she switched. She even had to switch insurance to do it, and she'll be at a totally different hospital.

I was forced to switch. I love my OB but she was let go due to hospital administrative stuff. I switched at 22 weeks. I got lucky and I do love the new OB so that is really good. I don't think that the insurance deductible and out of pocket maximum will reset on you, it should only do that if you switch insurance companies or insurance plans. Switching doctors has nothing to do with it. Good luck!

With my last pregnancy I was not happy with my OB/Gyn or her nurse and decided that I would look for a new OB/Gyn before I was pregnant again. I started seeing a new OB/Gyn when we were TTC last fall and really liked her style and felt like I was being treated as a person, not a patient. She's very genuine and I like her. She is the only doctor in the practice and it's fairly new (a year or less).

Since January, she's gone through several front desk/billing people. She's also gone through a few nurses. I cannot stand the current nurse - she doesn't speak properly (it's very casual/street talk, not professional and she can't pronounce medical terms). I've been getting more frustrated every time I go - appointments are late (employees come in after the office opens), the nurse doesn't seem intelligent, and to top it all off I found out today my billing is so messed up (example - claims from September and December were never filed and they're trying to get straight now).

I think I've hit the point of no return. Even though I love the doctor, dealing with the employees is terrible. Have you changed OB's mid-pregnancy? I'm 24 weeks now and I'm worried about switching to a different practice.
For my medical insurance, I've met my deductible and almost my out-of-pocket maximum already...
Thoughts?
