@Mrs. Twine: so is your Lo standing next to the toilet while you do this?

Seriously the poopy water splashed everywhere tonight!

@Mrs. Lion: yeah, my Lo pooped in her swim diaper twice in two days. And had pooped twice already that day both times.

We use Applecheeks and will be on our third summer with a size 2. I unsnap them, and then hold the back part against her bum while I pull the front part towards the back. I will use the clean front part like a wipe (front to back) since toilet paper on a soaking bum will just go everywhere, then I plop the poop in the toilet and finish cleaning her off. We take cloth wipes everywhere, but whatever you want to use. Then I hand-rinse the diaper in the sink, and wash my hands.

@Foodnerd81: I've only had to change 1 that was poopy...I just laid him on a towel on a pool chair and changed it like a regular diaper. Since it snaps it came right off...I don't remember there being any issue with poop getting anywhere. Then I just wiped him and put on a clean one. I think I just put the diaper in a plastic bag until we got home...then the poop goes in the toilet and the diaper in the wash.

@Mrs. Lion: but how? Like step by step- do you hold baby over the toilet as you unsnap? Or somehow let the excess water out before unsnapping?

Seriously, I obviously am out of my element here. :silly:

But I was looking at apple cheeks based on recs on here already.

I second the apple cheeks with snaps! My son wore his for 2 summers in a row and my daughter will get 2 years out of them as well since they have several snap settings.

@bunnylove08: yeah the disposable I tore the sides and it wasn't bad. There wasn't too much water in there.

@mrs.shinerbock: yeah we have an iplay one with no snaps so had to pull it down. But I managed to sort of flip it out so the poop would fall out before pulling down her legs and there was a ton of water in there that splashed everywhere. I think it would be the same with snaps?

I prefer the Applecheeks ones because they have snaps on both sides to make it easier. The iPlays were so hard to do with my LO's chunky thighs!

They should have tear away snaps on the reusable. We tear them away and roll the poop in the toilet. If we do not have an extra I will do a hand wash in the sink.

Please tell me- how do you change poopy swim diapers? Disposable? Reusable? I mean step by step like I'm five.

C has pooped in both our reusable swim diaper and a disposable. The disposable wasn't too bad, which was lucky since we were at a pool not that close to our place and I had to use a public bathroom. The reusable was at our pool right outside our vacation rental, which was lucky since I splashed poopy water all over the toilet taking it off!! I feel like there was be a smoother way...

On the plus side, no leaks either time, so I'm not complaining! But I'd like to get another reusable swim diaper for this summer if I can figure out an easier way.
