We've been using babies'r'us for newborn and LO's been fine. Thay come on sale 2 boxes for $35 ever so often and it ends up costing about 10 cents a diaper.

Thanks for all the answers! It looks like for newborn size, going with a more expensive might be better for sensitive skin, but Target + Luvs are great for bigger than that. I should also check out Amazon mom! Thanks guys!!

I tried the BJ's brand last week and LO broke out in a horrible red angry rash, we switched back to pamper's cruiser and it's looking better.

I don't like the target newborn, I haven't tried the other sizes. I do like the fit of luvs, but my LO has had some blow outs in them. I'm not sure if it was them or her. But I just got a pack of 200 from amazon prime for 26.00. For something that's going to be pooped and peed in I can't justify spending more unless they were irritating her.

Someone gave us Target brand newborn diapers and I used them when we ran out of pampers swaddlers... They made H's booty red and irritated her a little...So I stopped using them:(

@Bookworm: Pampers swaddlers are the best for a newborn because their skin is so sensitive. I tried huggies for one day and my baby broke out in red bumps. You can get deals on pampers by signing up for amazon mom you get 20% off diapers & wipes subscriptions

I really liked Pampers newborns. We got some Target Up and Ups for newborn size and didn't like them either. We've stuck with Pampers for now until we run out of size 2s.

When I was on maternity leave, I would order more diapers through Amazon Prime. I found it to be pretty reasonable in price.

We liked Luvs for a cheap newborn brand, and then Target brand for size 1 and up. For some reason the Target brand NB was a lot thinner and not as soft as size 1 and up. The Target brand actually holds more at night than the Pampers sometimes! I do still love Pampers though, but Target brand or Luvs is half the price.

Like many of us, DH and I are on a budget and hoping to save as much as possible when LO comes! I read somewhere that in the first couple of months, when LO is needing a diaper change every couple hours, using cheap (Target brand, no-brand names, etc) is a good way to save money because they are in it for such a short period of time.

Did any of you use cheaper diapers in the first few months? Or the whole time? Did they work as well, or did you find you needed to switch to brands like Huggies or Pampers? I'm going to start stocking up, but don't want to buy useless diapers! :)
