@hilsy85: That was my original plan, but my on my listserv people tend to sell the seat/o bar first, then the scooter later, so by the time I buy both I'd only save about $20, which isn't worth the effort. I was hoping to widen my scooter search by buying for DD1 since there are more options w/o a seat available. I'm definitely going to watch for a used Micro for her - worst case I resell it, right? :)

@daniellemybelle: I have the YBike 3-in-1 for DD1; its a little cheaper than a micro mini with an O-bar and seat, but not much. We like it!

Following along - I want to get LO a scooter for her 2nd birthday. For some reason, I can't find the Micro Mini anywhere online!

Thanks for the insight, ladies! I'd been looking at a Razor scooter for toddlers, but am a little worried that the folding aspect would make it less sturdy. Local Listserv is definitely an option, but I do worry that if it doesn't look as new as her current scooter, she'll back out of the offer to give hers to DD2! :)

I would just look for a used micro mini or the next one up (I think just the micro?) on parenting list serves--I see them all the time by us!

This is for a younger kiddo, but I'll share my experience. We got the radio flyer my first scooter first because it was cheap and recommended but after a day's use, I realized it was not good at all: hard to steer, the tires were bad, etc. I returned it and found a used micro mini on eBay for about $20 more than I paid for the radio flyer, but it's gotten a lot more use and is way easier to use!

My 3 year old is not particularly into scooter-ing, and is (supposedly) going to pass her micro mini with a seat attachment down to her little sister, who can't wait to get her hands on that scooter

DD1 would still like to have something to scoot with friends occasionally though, so I'm looking for a decent quality (I don't want to make scooting even harder for her!) Three-wheel scooter that is less expensive than the Micro Mini or YBike versions. Oh, and it has to come in pink. :)

Any reviews, even if they're negative, of other scooter models would be much appreciated!
