I've used Picaboo and Lulu. I liked the Lulu book better, but not by much. It was a cute small book, and it has the title on the spine which might be good for the children's book. I think Picaboo is cheaper since I always get email coupons from them now. However, I'm not sure if either is cheaper than Shutterfly.

Shutterfly
My publisher
Blurb

I've used all and like them! I love how easy it is to customize in blurb but it takes a looooot of time! But that's just me, you could click the automatic insert and select a theme so you don't have to,

I don't have any advice but I pinned this a while ago and it might help. This blog purchased photo books from 12 different companies and compared them all.

Ugh, I keep using shutterfly and they keep screwing up my books. My Publisher is the best I've used so far. As for cheapest, it's all about the sales and groupons. If you find one you like sign up for the mailing list or like them on facebook. I have books ready to go and then print them when I find an awesome sale.

I usually wait for a Shutterfly freebie, so it doesn't get much cheaper than that.

I've used my publisher several times for vacation albums and liked them and used Adoramapix for my wedding parent albums and they were gorgeous and the quality was way better than my publisher. For what you want to make tho I'm not sure which would be a better option for you.

I do get emails all the time from my publisher for deals tho.

Picaboo isn't the cheapest but I'm always getting emails from them about sales (we did our wedding album with them, so definitely a little more expensive and nicer than Shutterfly). I got a free little booklet from Walgreens using a sale, which would be fine for something for the kids to play with.
Photobookgirl always has lots of current sales on her website and I would check there when you are ready to make one. Someone on here is friends with her.. I forget who.

I use Shutterfly. They always seem to have sales and coupons and will give away free books every so often. I've made several 20 page 8x8 books for free and have just paid the shipping charge of $8.

You can combine % off and $ off coupons on Shutterfly. By doing this, I can usually make them for pretty cheap. You just can't seem to get rid of the shipping charge unless your total (after coupons) is $30+.

I want to try Artifact Uprising because I've seen it all over Pinterest and they look beautiful!

But I also want to make a bunch of books for Charlie for educational purposes and about trips, as well as reprint books for family members so I'm wondering... what is the cheapest place to make photobooks that is still good quality? I know all the companies have tons of sales and I have to be on the lookout, but just wanted to hear your personal experience. I've only used Shutterfly in the past....
