@HeatherlovesKenny: I know, right?! I can't believe how much he's grown, he almost doesn't look like the same baby!!!

We had to wean him from the swing, it was a BATTLE. Especially b/c my mom is lazy with naps and it was so much easier to keep him asleep in the swing during the day :P

@yoursilverlining: I'm sorry you had a rough start but things seem to be doing much better now and I'm so happy for you! :)J loves to "stand" too! E is just SO gorgeous!

@Lindsay05: You got some good advice already! :) We started oatmeal at 4 months 1 week, we started cereal but moved straight to oatmeal because the cereal was stopping him up too much, yikes! I think at the 5 month 1 week mark we'll start with green beans.

@cyndistar3: What a beauty!!!!

@GreenThumb: Congratulations and everyone will tell you this and you will roll your eyes but trust me--it goes by FAST! I hope you have a happy and healthy pregnancy!!!

@plantains: She. Is. GORGEOUS!!!! Good luck on your trip, I am sure she'll do great! You'll work things out once you go back to work. I can't say it's fun/easy, but it really does put things into perspective, I am much better at time management and my time with J is so much more precious than I could have imagined!

I was just looking at pictures, here is his 1 month pic and his 4 month pic, oh how he's GROWN! :)

My Junebugs!!!! How nice to see you all again. It is so great to read through this whole thread and catch up on how everyone is doing. Baby Lara and I are doing really well. Still EBF, our only feeding related issue is that she absolutley refuses to take a bottle no matter what I try. I gave her some pureed pears the other day for her first taste of solid food and she absolutely loved it.

Having her has been incredible but insanely tiring. Her sleep was really good for a long time but of the last couple of weeks it has completey gone to hell. I think it is the 4 month sleep regression. She goes down for around 5-6 hours initially and then is up every 90 mins to 2 hrs until morning. Each time I feed her and she goes right back to sleep so it isn't awful but certainly not ideal. I'm still on maternity leave so it hasn't mattered too much, but I'm going back to work in January so I hope things improve by then. I would love to CIO for some of her nightwakings but we all share the same bedroom so it is impossible.

I'm taking her on her first international trip soo, we leave for London on Monday and will be there for a couple of weeks. Hopefully she has a blast meeting her grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. Here are some photos of the journey so far. I have uploaded any for a few weeks so i'll have to do that soon.

@HeatherlovesKenny: Thanks :)I don't think she looks that much older. And Elly looks like she sits up better! When is her birthday? I do believe sheds a little too grown up for her age, she was born on the 16th.

@junebugmama: I don't think she looks older! To me they look like the same age. But then again my lo was born as full grown child, she was never really newborn looking lol.

Hello everyone! It is good to "see" everyone again, I kinda missed my fellow Junebug mamas :) All of your babies are sooooo frigging cute! I tried responding from my phone yesterday but everytime I tried to submit it would kick me off the internet for some reason!

We are doing pretty great, I am still breast feeding but I have started her on rice cereal as well in hopes to help her sleep more at night. So far it has helped bring the number of feedings down at night and thankfully my supply is still holding up! She is well on her way to sitting on her own now, she can but not all the time and not for long and she is finally supporting herself on her legs and pushing her knees up under her when she is on her belly (but still won't use her arms for anything!) and of course here are some pics :)

@babyjmama: Don't be too jealous of the leave. I got lucky in that my work pays disability at 100% for pregnancy-related leave. I know, lucky. So with my dr's note, I stopped working about 3w before birth, then I was also covered for 6w after birth. Then I used 11 of my 12 weeks of unpaid leave. So technically not all of it was maternity leave, but it added up to a nice chunk of time.

@babyjmama: What a happy baby! He's so smily. You look great!

@Lindsay05: Thanks for the compliments. I've had the same experience with everyone telling me what I'm doing wrong. "Why isn't he sleeping?" "Are you sure you shouldn't be feeding him rice cereal?" "Why aren't you giving him formula?" Sigh. It's hard to ignore everyone, but am doing my best. She is adorable. I'm not at the "wow, I kind of want to start trying for a 2nd yet, but happy for you!" My friend's 4.5-mo-old is getting all 4 front teeth already! My mom just told me I didn't get my first tooth until I was 13 months old!

@Ree723: Glad you're enjoying being a SAHM. So happy BFing is going well. So challenging, huh? I love her hair. And she looks so sweet and happy. I can't wait for my son's hair to arrive. I do love my bald little man, but oh, the hair! And, wow, thinking of trying for #2! As I said above, can't imagine that quite yet. Thinking of a 3-ish year gap if we decide to try for a 2nd.

@junebugmama: I'm so impressed you made it through so many BFing issues and that you're now aiming to be a IBCLC. LOVE the tripod sitting and Halloween costumes. He's just adorable. Oh, and your bonus son Jacob? So freakin' cute.

@babyjmama: I struggle all the time with how to do it all. WOHM, keep a clean house, be the best mom to my LO. It's been a tough lesson, but I've really been trying to learn to let some things go. Helps that we've had a monthly house cleaner for years now :) Sadly, about a day or 2 later, it looks like they never came. I've done my best to lower my expectations about how long something will take to do or how many things I can accomplish in a day. It's tough.

@yoursilverlining: I'm sorry you had such a rough beginning. Look at you now! So glad you're doing better. I think my LO loves daycare, too, otherwise it would be impossible for me to leave him there! He flirts with the caregivers -- it's so cute. What an adorable baby. Love the ones w/ papa and in the bath.

@HeatherlovesKenny: we just did raw avocado with Jax. You just add bm to it and mash with a fork. The bm actually breaks it down, so no need to puree. We took this picture, he was licking it like a dog, and I thought it was a funny halloween pic. He looks like he puked up pea soup lol!!!!!

@Lindsay05: I take fenugreek and blessed thistle. I also power pump for an hour every night after Jax goes to bed. At this point I'm just doing it to maintain supply and build a stash. If you're looking tips on how to increase, there's lots of things you can try.

@HeatherlovesKenny: The avocado we did raw (I’m not sure how you would cook avocado either!). I just waited until the avocado was super ripe, then ran it through the food processor and added a little formula to make it more liquidy. You only need to use like 1/8 of an avocado haha, so make something yummy for yourself with the rest!

The peas I cooked (steamed them), then ran them through the food processor until they were smooth. I added a little formula to that too; at the suggestion of the pediatrician.

@Ree723: What a cutie, I love all her hair! Haha, yeah it's hard to believe we want to go through it all again!! We probably won't start trying for awhile yet. I don't back to work until June and then I have to have so many hours in before I can take mat leave again so it probably won't be for another year or so. Exciting for you to start again quick though!!

@HeatherlovesKenny: OMG she is darling!

@junebugmama: Cute! That is awesome about the breastfeeding! How did you end up increasing your supply?

@pregnantbee: He sure is a little cutie! Embrie has been drooling SO much since 2 months and no signs of teeth either.

@yoursilverlining: Sorry about your rough start, but looks like it was all worth it! She is so precious!

I feel so lost as a parent sometimes! I have no idea how/when to start solids. My doc told me to wait till 6 months but I hear so many people starting at 4 with cereal and even some purees. How are you ladies approaching the solid phase??

Our Junebaby update:

Things are going really well now! We had a rough start with my milk not coming in; E having colic, and me having severe PPD almost immediately after birth. 4.5 months later though; things are great!! E is a very, very easy going baby and is usually very happy. She smiles all the time, and laughes.
E sleeps through the night; which is so nice since both my husband and I work full time outside of the house. We haven’t had to CIO at all yet; she’s very good about going right down after a bath and bottle.

E can roll from back to belly but she doesn’t show any interest in doing it often; she would rather “stand” or sit up. She can sit up unassisted for about 30 seconds at a time; and for several minutes with minimal boppy assistance.

She talks non-stop!! I walked into daycare one afternoon to pick her up, and all the babies were quiet except E – who was loudly telling stories to everyone from her bouncy chair. All her teachers comment on how verbal she is; and from the minute she wakes up to the minute she falls asleep she is chatting away to anyone who will listen. She has really figured out how to high-pitch squeal and shriek, so there is lots of that going on too.

She LOVES daycare, which makes it really easy to drop her off there every day. She is so social and loves to meet new people. As soon as she sees the other babies at daycare she starts flapping and waving her arms and laughing or talking really loudly. She absolutely loves playing with the other babies and loves watching the older ones learn to walk and eat.
We’ve started introducing purees a little bit; so far we’ve tried avocado and peas and E seemed to like the flavor of both, although of course she doesn’t have the hang of “eating” yet. She’ll get there though.

E’s favorite activities are holding hands, standing up and dancing to music, watching the cat and reading books. She almost has the hang of turning block book pages herself!
She’s doesn’t care for tummy time, unless you put toys in front of the boppy for her to reach for and play with. Then she’s fine to do tummy time for quite a while.

Here's some pics of E: bathtime, reading about Rome with papa, and watching the cat jump around and play.

@pregnantbee: so good to hear from you!!! Im jealous of your maternity leave! :-) And please don't feel alone in the not-so-good-sleeper club, we are trying our first night of modified CIO a nd I'm currently listening to baby J scream :-( it's pretty awful but I will say he put himself to sleep at bedtime after 35a min of crying. We are pretty desperate for a full nights sleep around here....I'm starting to lose my mind. Enough so that I'm trying CIO and even though I said I never would. It sucks. Fyi.

J just rolled back to front for the first time last week, it was so exciting! He did it while I was at work but my mom got it on video.

Hi, Ladies! I miss all of you. It's so great to hear from you and see all of the updates. I can't believe our LOs are 4 months old (5 months for Jax) already! They're all so cute, and I'm so glad you're all doing well.

Little Man C is doing well overall. Becoming a mom was so much harder than I ever thought it could be. And I certainly didn't go in thinking it would be easy. His smiles and amazingness do make up for all of the sleep deprivation and my anxiety over doing things "right." I was on maternity leave for 4 months, which included several weeks before his birthday.

It took awhile to become comfortable with breastfeeding -- between what I think was forceful letdown and his tiny mouth, it was tough for him to get a good latch and stay on. After about 3 months, it finally stopped hurting. I'm still EBF, and his daycare gives him bottles of pumped milk while I'm at work. And DH gives him the occasional bottle at home. Since I just went back to work today fulltime, I'm still working out how this whole pumping/daycare thing will go. I'm glad I returned to work gradually and did 2 weeks parttime first. In a workday, I'm not able to pump as much as he eats at daycare, so I'm wondering how this will go. Will be throwing in an extra pumping session per day if I can. I may have to provide 1 bottle of formula per day, but I'm going to try upping my supply before doing that. The other thing with that going on now is C gets pretty distracted while nursing -- he pops himself off to look around the room or look at me and coo. It's so freakin' cute, yet annoying at the same time, especially if it's at 3 a.m.

I'm envious of everyone's LOs who are better sleepers than mine! We've had a couple fluke long 7-10 hr stretches, but his "normal" is much more like a 5-hr, then 3, 2, 1-hr stretch. Maybe a 5-6 hr, then 4 hour, then 2 hr. Last week, he was waking up overnight every 1-2 hours, and it was killing me! Daycare suggested he was cold, so I double-swaddled, and that seemed to work, especially if we remembered to turn on the heat, too! I've been reading several "no-cry" sleep books, but I'm not sure yet which will be the winner. I'd like to not have to have him CIO, but I really want him to sleep better. His naps when home with me are shorter than I'd like, but he sleeps well at daycare.

I miss him while at work, but in some ways, I think I enjoy my time with him more now that there's not as much time. I really love my job and am happy to have conversations with adults during the day. Maybe at some point I'll change my mind, especially when he becomes more interactive, but working is the best choice for me for now. And I really love his daycare.

As for C himself, he is so curious about everything around him. He has to take in everything before he'll feel comfortable -- much like his mama. I really wonder what his internal monologue is! He's also a babbler and coo-er, and I'm trying to capitalize on his curiosity and apparent love of communication by teaching him some American Sign Language. He's also really strong -- he prefers "standing" to laying on his back or tummy. His head control is really good, and we keep having him practice holding his head up. He accidentally flipped himself onto his back months ago, but hasn't done it since. And he's dying to roll from his back to his stomach, but he hasn't done that yet either. And he's a drool machine. We go through multiple bibs a day. Not a tooth in sight, though.

And now for a couple recent photos. The one on his tummy is from last week. The one in the bouncy chair is from a couple weeks ago.

Let's try and check in with each other from time to time. Miss you and am happy to see so many of you here :)

Oh--and yeah, I have ears that stick out too! That's def. where he got them ;-) I'm just lucky enough to have hair that can cover them!

Yes I do have a bonus son he turned 5, 2 weeks ago and just started kindergarten. He's an amazing big brother and helps so much with Jax. He will entertain him while I cook and what not. He says their best friends <3 Here's a pic of Jacob. He carved this pumpkin all by himself this year! He's doing great in kindergarten and already has 2 girlfriends! Grace and Nicole lol

@Lindsay05: 80/20 is AWESOME!!!!! I'm so glad you've been able to continue, even with your travel and difficulties there. I can't believe with as much stress as you're feeling with it (and crying!) you are still going so strong and your body is going with you, I'm SO jealous! ;-) Ugh someone ALWAYS has an opinion. I ignore them...all. Except the ones I like...HA! People think they're an authority...turns out they're not. The only authority on your bambino? You. (And your hub...sometimes). Your LO is just gorgeous!!! Love!!!

@HeatherlovesKenny: I think about you girls a lot too! DH actually just asked me the other day "How are the girls from that website with the baby stuff?" and I finally took the time to sit down and write to you all! :) p.s. the most recent instagram add you had from a random person? That's me!!! I found you through cocobee ;-)

@Ree723: I can not believe your LO's sleep! That's crazy! You literally inspired me to start sleep training tonight because we're SO freaking tired all the time haha! I seem like I have it all together as a WOHM but there are days that all I can think about is a glass (bottle) of wine and asking someone else to come watch him. It's impossible to keep up on the house, laundry, dishes etc etc...you just have to choose your battles. Basically we clean like MAD before anyone comes over and if people just pop by? Welp. They see a ridiculous mess of dog hair, baby clothes and toys. Whatever. It's our life. ;-)

@junebugmama: BAHAHA funny you should mention his ears, DH and I both have huge ears and some people will be like "WOAH" and others will ignore them completely. We'll get them fixed before he goes to school so he doesn't have to deal with getting made fun of, but I will admit, I think they're so friggin adorable. Jax is soooo handsome! Oh my gosh! Forgive me if I'm wrong but was it you who had the "bonus son"? (It's been a while........) If so I hope you're all adjusting well! Don't feel bad or alone with having a needy baby, J gets pretty fussy if you're not paying attention to him. We've been working with him to get more used to his play mat and try to be more independent. I have a lot of guilt from being a full-time working mom though, I won't lie. It's really hard for me not to cater to him, I miss him so much during the day that I don't mind spending all of that time with him. He won't want this for much longer, it's going to go too fast so I'm trying to enjoy what little time I have with him in the evenings as much as I can.

Our update:

Jax is a pretty needy baby. He doesn't like to really be by himself and gets easily bored. He's rolling over, standing, and now gets on all 4's and rocks, so he should be crawling any day now. He can crawl backwards about a foot or so, which I find hysterical. He hasn't quite managed moving forward. He's super chatty and is now cutting a tooth. He's a mover and a shaker for sure!

We are ebf. He's never received a drop of formula. It was a crazy struggle. I had low supply, he was tongue tied, my body didn't make milk only colostrum for 14days do to my early induction, but we made it! I actually am working at the local hospital as a breastfeeding mentor and am working to become a IBCLC. My struggle and reward have really changed me and proved to me that I really can do anything if I put my mind to it. As Jax gets older there really is a bond that him and I have formed. He now holds my hand while he nurses which I think is super cute.

Jax is pretty standard sleeper for a bf baby. Most bf babies will sleep for about 7 hours straight and then every 2 hours. He falls asleep around 9pm, wakes at 11pm to feed and then sleep until about 6am, feeds again and then sleeps until 9am. I do however have to lay with him to get him to fall asleep and it can take awhile.

Even though I'm a Junebug if you all remember he was born May25th so he just turned 5months. We had family pics taken that weekend so heres one from last week along with a few others. We also went to Halloween party where he was Elvis!

Hey ladies!

@babyjmama: What a great smile! I love his ears! BFing is really difficult. With out the right support it can be even tougher.

@Lindsay05: adorable! Lucky you for getting baby in crib. I don't think I'll ever be able to move him out!

@Ree723: look at her hair! I can't believe some of you already have the baby itch.

@HeatherlovesKenny: I love all of her headbands. Good for you for stinking through the bf with latch issues.
