@bhbee:  I'm trying to be there for her as much as i can; i can imagine how tough this is for her.

@crazydoglady: @Chuckles: yah a blighted ovum is what the consensus is but the doc isn't ready to commit 100% yet.

@periwinklebee:  im sorry you experienced that. She says this time has been slightly easier on her as she's never heard a heartbeat like she did at her first miscarriage but she also says she cant help but hope it'll magically work out.

I'm so sorry. I had an experience where we had to wait two weeks after we weren't seeing any growth for the heartbeat to stop, and then another week to get on the OR schedule for the D&E. It really sucked to be pregnant, yet know it wasn't going to work

@RKitty: I agree with @crazydoglady: that happened to me last summer. I had my first ultrasound at almost 8 weeks and they saw only the sac. Because my hcg went up slightly over a week, I had to wait until 10 weeks and 2 more ultrasounds before they would confirm the miscarriage.

Just updating as my friend's issue is on going. And in case anybody reads this in the future.

Last weeks HCG was over 2k and today's US showed a sac grew from 3.5 to over 9 mm so they aren’t comfortable calling it yet. There’s no yolk sac or fetal pole but there is some kind of debris in there. She has a couple blood draws scheduled and an US on the 17th. (Its so far out due to scheduling issues)

Friday's appointment ruled out ectopic atleast. But everything is still alittle uncertain however its not looking good.

There is a fluid accumulation in the uterus that might be the start of a small sac — about 4mm x 2mm. However since she would be about 5 weeks it's not very promising.

She's getting bloodwork next week and a follow up US and appointment in 2 weeks if her tests keep showing postive.

I had significant bleeding due to an SCH (different pregnancy than the chemical mentioned above, did not have a happy ending either but lots of times they do...). I hope the uncertainty is resolved soon.

Could the bleeding be caused by an SCH? A friend of mine had one early in her pregnancy. Eventually it resolved and she is due next month. Hopefully your friend can get in and get an ultrasound to see what is going on.

Mystery deepens. Tests keep darkening even with blood/AF.

Monday betas were 54 and Wednesday (today/21dpo) betas were 139. She has an appoinment on Friday to talk with someone and to figure out a path forward.

I’m going through the same thing right now. My tests haven’t progressed in 3 days. I had betas drawn at 14dpo and my hcg was 45. Going in for a repeat today. I have had 4 losses, and 3 of them were slow to progress, so I don’t have much hope.

But todays test was a smidge darker and she did call for betas thats scheduled for tomorrow morning. Sooo we're sticking with the hopeful slow start pregnancy :goodluck:

In my experience it is suspicious for a chemical 😕 I know there’s lots of success stories out there that start low and slow and are fine, but every time I have had slow progression it’s been a cp.
but betas is the best option for sure 💕

Unfortunately I agree that it looks like a chemical. If it helps, here are my osoms and betas from a chemical last year. It helped me to get betas so I knew what was happening. That would be my advice.

In my experience a progression like this was a chemical. I did not start bleeding until my hcg hit 3, which took awhile... But I know other people have had a slow start, so hard to know for sure without betas...

@Sams Mom: thanks! That's what i was thinking too that there was a slight progression. She's hesitant at the moment to call for betas i think because she got discouraged by the lines not darking and her RE from before is 4 hours out of town. But i told her I'd ask to see if somebody with more experience would give their opinion.

There is some progression. OSOMs are about 20 mui on sensitivity, so the fact she's getting lines is pretty good actually. The only way you can tell what is happening though would be betas and/or wait and see.

I'm posting on behalf of a friend.

Her first pregnancy was a missed miscarriage and let to a d&c with long lasting complications. The 2nd was conceived via IVF and resulted in her son who is just a year old. She is still nursing him. She ovulated on day 42 and I've attached photos of her tests. Each test was done around the same time each morning. No meds or anything this is a 'normal' cycle.

We're both not to sure whats going on since there is very little change in day to day - we both kind of expected darker lines. So a little worried it might be a chemical pregnancy?

Oh and there was some spotting around 10/ 11dpo but none since.
