Once a bear knocked my small chest freezer over and stole some meat. Like, I was standing on the other side of the glass patio doors and scared him off.</p> <p>Life in the mountains. I had to move it inside and am soooo happy to now have a basement!</p> <p>I now have a small chest freezer for meat and a 6 ft for meals and frozen summer fruit for smoothies. It would be so much cheaper... actually we NEED to get one because we joined a CSA and will be receiving LARGE quantities of food.</p> <p>So the apartment we're moving to has a nice little balcony that is covered - but not like a three season porch, it just has a roof.</p> <p>We are considering putting it out there, but we get freezing winters, like icy and -20 temps. </p> <p>Does anyone know if we could keep the freezer out there? If not I think we might have space in the walk in closet, but that would definitely infringe on valuable storage space! </p>
