no, but, Dd2 is WAY busier than dd1 was. so I'm not ruling it out! we had a freezer that tended to drift open so we used one of those safety 1st cabinet latches to hold it shut. cheaper than the "official" fridge locks, too!

@PinkElephant: It should. Our fridge is a bottom freezer model, so she is still too short to open it even when we are in there.

@Mrs.KMM: I never have either...I saw one once on an apartment we viewed and my reaction was kind of "who would do such a thing?!" because I don't like the message of mommy controlling the food.....but recent happenings have made lightbulb of understanding go on in my head.

@avivoca: DDs are definitely not alone in the kitchen, but occasionally my back is turned to the fridge (like if I have the stove/oven on), and this is when she strikes :) She used to run for the cabinets every chance she got, but eventually lost interest. I'm hoping this happens with the fridge, too.

No. It hasn't been an issue. We don't even lock our cabinets because she is never in the kitchen without us.

No - we're not planning to (and I've never been to a house with kids who locked the fridge).

Do you use a childproof fridge lock of some sort?

With DD1, we never did..mainly because the kitchen was galley-style and gated off. But in beginning to think we might need one for DD2. She is SO FAST and doesn't hesitate to help herself to whatever she wants (plus she'll toss everything else out to get to the yogurt/berries/pickles).
