Our childbirth class gave us the run down on all of the options. We both thought it was very useful, plus it covered what to expect in the hours and days after delivery. Everywhere is going to teach it a little differently though, so I would contact whoever is providing the class to find out what is covered and to what extent.

I wouldn't. They had seperate childbirth, newborn, CPR, breastfeeding, etc. classes. I would pick and choose what you think might be most helpful for you.

Childbirth really covered mostly natural childbirth (useful positions, etc) and epidurals.

It depends what the class covers...if it is solely labor management techniques, then I don't think it's needed with a scheduled c-section. But if it covers the hospital's process and tour of the facility, infant care, and breastfeeding (depending on if you plan to) then it might still be helpful.

I didn't take any classes. If you've never taken care of a baby before it would probably be a good idea. Or, you could always youtube the basics--swaddling, changing, bathing, etc.

If the class you're looking at only covers the actual birth then probably not. You can look into other classes that cover breastfeeding and basic child care which would be more relevant.

I think so, they teach you so much about care, and what to do in those first few weeks/months, how to bath the baby, feeding etc. There is much more than just the actual birth.

do you think it's necessary if you're going with c-section?
