Could it be more of a tired issue than transition? Maybe after having so much fun playing for song long she's just wiped out and tired, which it causing the tantrums?

Does anyone have a child that doesn't transition well? Our daughter has a really hard time with play date transitions. She has been a daycare kid all of her life so she isn't new to playing/sharing with others. It's just transitioning when at home....

I give her time checks (we have to walk "S" home in 10, 5, 2 minutes) and prep her for how long the play date can go ("S" can't stay for dinner). But, when the time comes, she screams and cries and freaks out. So much so that she ends up being sad she didn't say goodbye to her friend.

I've tried talking to her about it. I've asked her about her feelings. I ask her if she understood the rules of the playdate, etc.

What can I do? What do you do? It's not just this friend, it's most play dates we have. I'm about ready to say no more play dates, it's that bad. :( I'm hoping she will grow out of this.....
