<description>&#60;p&#62;I don't know if it would win a chili cook-off, but I think it's delicious. We try to avoid red meat, so this is the best turkey chili recipe I've found. The cinnamon and cocoa really give the chili a lot of depth. &#60;/p&#62;

<description>&#60;p&#62;I won a contest at work with this recipe:&#60;br /&#62;
- Dice 1/2 yellow onion and saute till softened with 1 tbsp olive oil.&#60;br /&#62;
- Add 1lb. ground beef and 1/2 packet of McCormick's chili packet and brown.&#60;br /&#62;
- Drain well and add to crockpot&#60;br /&#62;
- Add the following:&#60;br /&#62;
    * 2 cans red kidney beans, drained&#60;br /&#62;
    * 2 cans white northern beans, drained&#60;br /&#62;
    * 1/2 jar of Pace Picante sauce, mild&#60;br /&#62;
    * 1 jar of spaghetti sauce&#60;br /&#62;
    * rest of McCormick's chili packet&#60;br /&#62;
    * splash of good dark beer (drink the rest! :D )&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Cook on low for 7-8 hours.

&#60;p&#62;NGREDIENTS&#60;br /&#62;
- 2 pounds ground turkey&#60;br /&#62;
- 2 tablespoons chili powder&#60;br /&#62;
- 1 can kidney beans (15oz), drained and rinsed&#60;br /&#62;
- 1 can white beans (15 oz), drained and rinsed&#60;br /&#62;
- 4 (14-ounce) cans diced fire roasted tomatoes or regular if you can't find fire roasted&#60;br /&#62;
- 1 large sweet potato peeled and grated&#60;br /&#62;
- 1 can (15 oz) chicken broth&#60;br /&#62;
- 1/4 cup instant tapioca&#60;br /&#62;
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce&#60;br /&#62;
- 1 tablespoon kosher salt&#60;br /&#62;
- 2 teaspoons onion powder&#60;br /&#62;
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder&#60;br /&#62;
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin&#60;br /&#62;
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon&#60;br /&#62;
OPTIONAL 1 to 2 chipotle chiles in adobo sauce, chopped&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;DIRECTIONS&#60;br /&#62;
1) Starting with ground turkey, put all ingredients into slow cooker.&#60;br /&#62;
2) Cook on low for 6-8 hours.&#60;br /&#62;
3) Top with cheese, sour cream, green onion or you other favorite chili toppings and enjoy

&#60;p&#62;Then read online that a few key ingredients are needed so I added some beer, beef bouillon, cocoa powder and masa flour - I kept tasting it as I went along - it was really good!

&#60;p&#62;and honestly I think that's it?  I used to have a good white chicken chili but I have no idea where the recipe is!
