The algae wasn't widespread like you would see a completely untreated, unmaintained pool. We pay $85/ mo for our pool guy- salt/ no salt. I don't know the true costs of the inputs. The salt system broke and the easiest, no cost fix was to use chlorine. Our pool guy said the cost of repair was higher than the cost to replace with a new salt system at $1, 000. If we used the pool more we would definitely fork over the grand.
