I loved Adventures in Odyssey when I was a kid (even listened into my early teens). Not quite a resource, but definitely something I'll introduce to LO!

@runsyellowlites: I will say, it's set up for use in a classroom setting (like Sunday School), but I know lots of families that use it for their family devotion times, just using the stories and songs.

@runsyellowlites: Yes, but I read her blogs much more often than her books. They are good stuff!

I love Andy Stanley too!

I really loved Commander Kelly and the Superkids when I was growing up. I plan to share this with my LOs one day.

The author of these products writes parenting books too. I've never read any of them, but my parents did.

@runsyellowlites: It's both. It's really a series of lessons broken down by age group. They're pretty quick and easy, and there is music that goes along with it. The songs are the verses from the lessons set to music. Shorter versions for younger kids and longer for older. I loved teaching PF because I learned a lot too :).

Love this! I've never heard of the majority of these so I will definitely be looking into them!

@Weagle: Never heard of Praise Factory! Are they teachings or p&w? We listen to alot of p&w but usually just the adult stuff, G hears kids versions at church. =)

@grizz: So I'm guessing she's a writer? I wish I could get myself to read more! My mom has an amazing library of Christian books! I'll tell her to check this one out too!

@citymouse: Andy Stanley is seriously a favorite (how could he not be?!) His series Judgment Call has to be one of my favorites EVER! (I have it on my laptop & listen to it probably once a year). I'll have to check out Breathing Room!

Following! I absolutely love Jen Hatmaker. I know she doesn't focus exclusively on marriage or parenting, but she seems to be very like-minded to my way of thinking and I learn a lot from her writing...I feel like I learn a lot from her husband too.

For kid centered stuff, I really like The Praise Factory. I know the authors, and I've taught the material. It's GREAT for kids. I don't listen to any pastors that focus on one specific area of teaching, but there are a few resources that are more focused that I like. Girl Talk blog is one of my favorites, John Piper's sermons and articles on parenting are really good, and the Parenthood Core Seminar material from Capitol Hill Baptist Church. Those are my go-tos these days.

I know for us, having sound biblical teachings/resources is important. Our pastors have 4 grown children all loving God & serving in the church, never having that "I hate you.." rebellious stage we see so many teens have (not to mention most young adults LEAVE the church upon graduating) so I know that "it" can be done.... We look to them and we have a handful of pastors that we really like their stuff.

Joe Mcgee is one that we absolutely LOVE! He is so sound in his teaching & his knowledge of the Word is amazing! He's absolutely hilarious as well so it's always fun to hear him. His "Biblical Parenting 101" DVD series is something that we frequently watch (probably 3-4 times a year) and I tell you I am STILL learning stuff from it 4 years later! We have his "Blended Family" series too as well as a couple other marriage/family series.
(you can find his resources on his site http://www.joemcgeeministries.com/html/resources.html)

We also love Jimmy Evans... yea he's more about marriage, well all about marriage, BUT since our marriage and being a good husband/wife is such an important part of creating a godly environment for our kids I definitely count it in my parenting arsenal! I mean G & P (and all our future kids) are going to learn how to be good spouses from us so it counts right?!
(You can get his stuff here: http://store.marriagetoday.com/)

Are there any other Christian mommas that look to/rely on specific pastors to help in this amazing job of parenting? I'd love to grow our arsenal!
