(that i made like 3 years ago) I'm thinking its rather simple, get a cone shape, weight it down possibly to avoid tipping, then hot glue gun felt over it, attatch buttons all over the tree so kids can hang their decorations and then make / buy soft felt toys. I was thinking i would actually make this into an advent calendar.
