Has anyone gotten a Baby Alive doll before? DD2 loves dolls and babies, so I’m sure she’d love one, but there are a lot to choose from. Or, if you have other doll suggestions I’m open too.

I'm (happily) only in charge of getting gifts for BIL, DH, DD, my mom, and myself. Although, I'm guessing I'll have to step-in and help with finding gifts for two of DD's toddler cousins.

BIL: He loved the gourmet snacks Advent calendar we gave him last year as a birthday gift. The company is no longer shipping it to our country, so I made one for him out of a DIY kit. It was a super easy, just fill yourself kind. I chose random goodies, loose tea and spices. I even made sure to add cereal bars for Mondays. The slot for the 24th was big enough to fit a knitted Dr. Who scarf in side. I think he's going to love it! -- Done and completely sealed! 🎉

DH: I have no idea :silly: As for his Advent calendar, he says the beer calendar I got him last year was a little too much beer (whatevs since he never struggled drinking it) so this year, I intend to buy a handful of the type of beer he likes and add it to his calendar along with cereal bars, snacks and museli.

DD: Hers is the complicated set of gifts that I usually get and accumulate throughout the year. So I hoard things on sale that she might like and can fit inside a stocking (from Santa). Our Santa stuffs our stockings -- I thought I was being extra clever when I started this, but since the popularity of blind bags shot up, it became the more expensive option 😪 I'm not sure if she still believes in Santa, but it's hard to know since we live abroad and they don't do Santa in the same magical way here. So I'm keeping this up and OMG this is a novel already!

DD's stocking: Mash'ems Harry Potter balls, Little Lucky Lunchbox Surprise, NaNaNa Surprise Dolls (But I'm not sure if they fit in her stocking.)

DD's Xmas gift: Bluetooth cat headphones. Funneh and the Krew keychain set that she was asking for. I'm not sure what else.

I forgot that I'm also in charge of getting DD gifts from grandma since the post office situation is total 💩 My mom will be getting her new Funneh and the Krew merch (DD's fave YTers).

DD's Advent calendar: Num Nums with small pieces of candy. I bought sets on eBay that I'll open and stuff each one into a paper bag aka our advent calendars this year.

My mom: a wax covered amaryllis or equivalent

Me: A book about ornamental shrimp. We need a new rice cooker and non-sticks pans, so I'm thinking about getting that and having them wrap it 😂 If I'm really feeling festive, a light screen background for my new aquarium.

My advent calendar: Yankee votive in the new Christmas scents, whatever snacks we pick-up in bulk, maybe skincare samples in cute containers. None of this is purchased yet.

Edit: I just tried it out and the NaNaNa Surprise box fits(!) but barely 🍷 Also, I haven't shared this much info in MONTHS! 🥴

Love this! Thinking about all of the upcoming holidays is basically the only thing keeping me going through the pandemic at this point :silly: We usually get one main gift for each kiddo, and then a few books each (we have been loving the Symphony Orchestra books, if anyone is looking for ideas), and possibly something smaller that they need.

My 2.5 year old is getting a Fagus tractor and hay cart.

My (almost) 6 year old will probably be getting a big kid bike for his birthday in early December. I am not quite sure about Christmas for him, yet, but probably a LEGO set of some kind, or two.

In their stockings, they’ll get a some Ostheimer and Schleich animals, Maileg mice (I get ours from https://www.nordiskashop.com/), a couple Da Bomb Bath Fizzers, some little Ambrosius fairies, stickers, temporary tattoos, etc.

I love stockings most of all  Ha

Gets harder every year!

DH ... no idea this year especially!!

The two grandparents will each get a calendar and ornament and then something boring they request probably  - we share ideas for all adults so there are few surprises for adults, which I like at this life stage.

Ideas for kids, some of which will get shared by relatives:

DD1 (almost 9): glowing chemistry set from tinker box, Lego HP Astronomy Tower, Lego Hedwig, Alex and Ani Time Turner necklace (got on a great sale!), at least one book and then some Ravenclaw makeup from Ulta and sequin scrunchies (her bday is in Jan and then I have even more HP related ideas ... )

DS (almost 6): Lego fire truck set, Lego Ninjago set, earthquake kit from Lakeshore, Bowser hot wheels set, ninjago spinner (Lego is getting all our cash this year!), grouch couch game to share, maybe a tooth pillow since he hasn’t lost any yet, books (stealing the how to draw Dinos idea), also on his January bday list are a marble run and a vivofit jr which oldest has already.

DD2 (2) - so hard since siblings have everything already! A little bunny set from OG (Target’s American Girl), silly scents colored pencils, suction cup pipes for bath, duplo pizza stand, crayola Color wonder watercolor set, OG tea set (she’s really too young but loves her sister’s tiny things), Usborne colors book, Lakeshore animal town, also just saw a really cute transforming caterpillar on the kiwi box site.

Basically more Legos than I want to add up! And I’m going to an usborne book sale next week that will surely get some more books into the mix. Writing this out makes me think it’s time to clean out some toys ...

This is the earliest I've ever figured everything all out!! I really wanted to get in on the deals they had last week. I've done half of the shopping, but here are my ideas for everyone.

DD (18 month)- rocking horse, little people dollhouse, books, bath toy, wooden train, and toy remote control

DH- fancy computer mouse, dice game, funny socks, chocolate

Mom- coffee, candle or gift card for books

Dad- National Geographic subscription and puzzle

Sister/Brother-in-law- Escape room game, gin and tonic cocktail kit, and some type of run snack (game night it idea)

Grandparents will get some kind of gift card and for the grandma in the nursing home we'll probably just give some type of holiday flower arrangement. She really doesn't need anything/could really use anything.

Love ideas from this thread!

All three boys are getting movie night kits (personalized lap desks, snackeez cups, popcorn tub, popcorn, box of candy, and a DVD).

For their stockings I'll probably do socks or underwear, play doh, blind bags, toothpaste and new toothbrushes, a small toy or two

DS1 (5.5) - bike, mario or minecraft lego, a hover star (which I already regret purchasing), Mario RC car, children's atlas...I have endless ideas for him.

DS2 (2.75) - balance bike, Luigi RC car, little tykes blaster toy, dinosaur puzzle, kinetic sand, headphones

DS3 (1.5) - PBK suitcase, doctor kit, alphabot robots (the latter two are probably too old for him but as the third of three boys he literally needs nothing but I still want to have something for him to open).

DH - no clue, I want to skip gifts for us this year and put the money towards our 10 year anniversary in june.

My mom and dad - gift card, personalized jigsaw puzzle, personalized Lionel train car

Everyone else I am clueless on!

I had done no shopping, and then Chapters had a sale on toys and now I've done possibly too much, at least for the kids.

B (6) will be getting:
a kid's fitbit, which he's been asking for (well, technically he's been asking for a kid apple watch, but HAHAHAHA no)
This 4 in 1 games table with pingpong, air hockey, basketball shooting, and one other
A marble run set
Pac Man Monopoly and Pokemon Battle Academy
A package of books - Mysteries of the Universe, Dragonology, the Animal Book, and a Geromino Stilton

B is tough because he's a very active kid who doesn't play with toys so much, he wants to be DOING stuff.

W (4) is a lot easier because he's really into imagination stuff. He's getting:
Paw Patrol dino rescue truck
Lego Ocean Explorer base
A hot wheels mega-hauler truck
Hoot Owl Hoot
A kid's cooking utensil set (I still have to buy this, but I'm going to put together an apron, some kid-friendly knives, utensils, and a cookbook)
A package of books - the Grateful Book, the Bold Brave Bunny, an Elephant and Piggie, and one more I'll pick out at some point

I haven't made any progress on anybody else - I think I'll get my parents a photo daily tear-off calendar. I've ordered a pair of boots from Roots for my husband, but I'm still kind of undecided if he'll actually like them.

Thanks Amazon Prime days for getting me started on my shopping! Honorable mention to Target. :)

DS1 - Harry Potter legos (2 of the bigger ones)
DS2 - experiment kits, craft supplies, Avengers action figures
They're both getting razor scooters, baseball bats, clothes, books

DH - no idea. Think I still owe him a birthday present

My parents - no ideas yet but maybe a gift card to a local restaurant

FIL and his girlfriend - always so hard to buy for so I think I'm going to think local and put together a basket of items from a lot of the small businesses in my town. We have some great coffee places, chocolate shops, and a homemade soap store. There's also a wine shop that does tastings that they like to visit when they come up here so I figured a bottle of wine and maybe a gift certificate.

My mom and stepdad: a shutterfly desktop calendar, two new cookbooks, gift card to their favorite restaurant, a new hat and candy for my stepdad specifically, and a few kitchen things for my mom that she wanted.

My Dad: a Christmas ornament and a shutterfly desktop calendar

Sisters: RBG tote bags, a pair of earrings for one and a plant stand for the other

MIL and SFIL: a couple of outdoor lawn decorations, a shutterfly calendar of DD and her cousins, a new throw blanket, and some handmade ornaments.

DH's grandmother: an angel sun prism.

DH: portable phone bank, new pajamas, and he will buy the PS5 - which is his "gift" just not sure when he will get it. His stocking has a dragon zipper pull, floss, hot sauce, magnetic bottle opener, nose hair trimmer, and chocolate covered espresso beans.

DD: Her stocking has two lego dot bracelets, metallic colored pencils, scented stickers, a multi color pen, mini rock dig, hair clips, toothbrush, toothbrush cover, band aids, socks, and candy. But no idea on her actual gifts yet - she doesn't seem to want anything. So probably lots of art supplies and books.

All of the above has been purchased except for the shutterfly calendars - hoping for some snowy pictures before ordering.

We buy for a few more random people but I didn't want to list them all :silly: . We normally bake treats for our neighbors and a few friends but that feels weird this year - so I am making them ornaments and/or giving them planted succulents.

DD1 (7yo) wants the Our Generation Awesome Academy (which was a PAIN to track down...There were 4 in all of Canada - all the way across the country. Luckily my sister lives near that city so I sent her to get it. Now I will pay a small fortune for her ship it to me 😒) She also wants a few more AG accessories, rainbow looms and art supplies.

DD2 (5yo) hasn’t said much yet but I know she wants an AG doll of her own instead of always having to borrow her sister’s.

I feel stressed already for Christmas! So many things are already out of stock, or shipping options are so limited. Usually whatever I can’t get here, I order from the US - we live fairly close to the border and have a PO Box. But with the border closed that’s not an option so I’m having to get creative and be proactive.

She has a small plastic one from Amazon but shes already outgrowing it so we wanted to get her something more substantial. I've picked up a few other little gifts- toy car set, animal magnets, Minnie phone, book, and princess play coffee maker. We will get her a few more toys/books.

As for my husband, he really wants a professional massage so I was going to get him a gift certificate for one but not sure anymore as I'm a little worried about covid cases increasing in NY.

I keep a Pinterest board for my kiddo's for myself and family members to buy from, so I'm been working on ideas for those. I usually browse the Amazon kid lists.

DS (will be 6) ideas - bike flashlight or headlamp, dino egg bath bombs, giant bubbles, "Learn how to draw dinosaurs", magic science kit, walkie talkies, legos, vintage nintendo-type game, telescope.

DD (3) Animal surprise bath bombs, bubble mower/machine, playdoh/kits, pretend dress-up / make-up, baby doll clothes, poke-a-dot books, Disney princess dolls, nursery play set (hopefully a cheap black friday deal).

The only thing I've bought so far are matching Christmas Socks from Old Navy, and I have some Water Wow kits we bought and the kids forgot about so I saved them for stockings.

DS1 (6) is super into art, science and reading (all my faves too) so I have lots of ideas for him: a science experiment set, nat geo kids subscription, a coding robot, origami sets... way too many ideas because I do try to limit to want, need, wear, read, plus Santa.

DS2 (3) is harder but I did get him some knex on prime day. Also thinking about some paw patrol cars to round out his collection and maybe a dress up costume.

DD (6 mo) is hardest because she needs nothing but also not causing me stress. So I’ll probably get her some new pacis, shoes and sleep sacks

And I have no ideas for the grown ups in my life...

What are you getting everyone this year? Where are your favorite places to find ideas?

Here is what I have so far:

DD: playdoh set, art set, puzzle, electric toothbrush. I'll probably get her a few Usborne books too.

Dad: Uniqlo vest, probably a few books

Mom: She's more of a newspaper/magazine reader so maybe a subscription to that?

I had a great idea that I would knit these hats in team colors for DH, my dad, and bro...but I've messed up 1 hat like 3 times...lol so not sure I have the patience to keep going!
