@Coco Bee: That dress is so cute! I wish someone made ME a dress.

I am making Cranberry Liquour. I haven't decided who or if I am gifting it or just bringing it to Thanksgiving or something, but it would make a good gift in a pretty bottle. http://www.myrecipes.com/recipe/cranberry-liqueur-10000000554718/ I made it last year and it's very tasty-- even just a splash of it in a cup of seltzer with ice makes it feel more special (and a splash of alcohol on a weeknight is probably better than a cosmo :)

bumping this thread!!

I will probably do a few food DIYs such as granola in mini mason jars with with a bow, lara bars, cookies etc.

I think I'm going to try to make this dress for my sister, it will be hard guessing on measurements though. She is 2-4 sizes smaller than me :-/

I am LOLing at the idea of making fleece socks for some reason, from that list. @photojane another dude diy gift that is fun are spice mixes - taco mix, bbq rub, oregano/rosemary porkchop rub. Do they play any sports? My husband has fancy "golf" sunglasses (roll eyes here) so I made him a fleece lined glasses case with Iowa Hawkeyes fabric on the outside but you could also do a personalized golf towel..

For a new baby I'm making a DIY salt dough ornament kit.

I'm putting the ingredients in a mason jar with directions on how to add the water and mix, roll out, and bake, and I'm attaching a straw (to poke a hole), ribbon, and a heart cookie cutter to it. I happened to buy some heart cookie cutters at an after valentine's day sale not knowing what I was going to do with them, but they were super cheap and the whole gift is things I had around the house already.

One year I made homemade vanilla extract. It was super easy (just add vanilla beans to vodka and shake once a week) and everyone loved it! You can find beans really cheap on ebay (I think I bought a pound for $20 or something crazy like that) and then I bought pretty brown bottles to put it in. I'm thinking of doing it again this year.

You take a puzzle (I plan to get one from goodwill, etc. and clean it up) then put photos of family on the inside and cover the outside of the puzzle pieces with scrapbook paper. It's hard to explain, but it's super cute. I especially love that idea since my niece lives on another continent and this would give her a fun new way to see our faces!

I am thinking of doing a little hot chocolate pack with cocoa marshmellows, cute stir spoons and homemade Bailey's. And then a homemade treat like peppermint bark.

I really just want to find a use for making these spoons:)

I have seen some really cute candle/luminary ideas on Pinterest too!

subscribing! I almost always do a christmas candy gift for mine and DH's coworkers. I LOVE Christmas and gift giving and love when I can find a good DIY !

Have you looked on Pinterest? I recently pinned a dyi for homemade lotion bars that are supposed to be similar to the ones at Lush!
