I spent over $200 on a new wallet for my husband to find out that he loves his old $40 one too much to part with. Fail!

I love those little cars! (LO played with them for awhile off and on too.)Put them aside, there will be a time it will eventually become a ParentWin!

I bought my daughter a Karito Kid which is like an American Doll but a cuter international version (for half price) but to my dismay she didn't want to play with it until 3 years later. My fault, I bought it when she was a baby!!! Ok so it was really for me, than her, at the time. But I was happy to live to see the day she finally liked her so much she would bring her around.

I put way too thought into buying her new baby doll and even bought an outfit and handmade diapers (she's been so interested in babies lately). Turns out MIL also bought her a baby doll and also got a separate outfit to change into. LO's now the proud "parent" of twins!

Her babies haven't been played with at all. Typical! Lol!

@BadgerMom: my son got those at 1 year and still plays with the, at almost 4! Your son will probably eventually like them.

Our fail is that we visited my DH's family and we got SO much stuff that we have to take an extra suitcase on the flight home!

I guess this is sort of present fail. LO got lots of toys. He's only really interested in the cleaning/mop set and a toy tool kit. He carried his toy tool kit up to bed with him last night and for naps.

Ours isn't a gift fail for our LO but for DH and I! Someone got her a Elsa doll from the movie Frozen that sings Let it Go and lights up. It sings (loudly) when you hold it, bump it, create any motion near it, turn on/off a light in its vicinity... You get the point. AND there is NO OFF SWITCH! Of course DD loved it but it had to go before DH and I lost our minds!

Not so much a present fail as a whole Christmas morning fail with Blake. My kids didn't sleep well away from home then took a way too short nap, then we did gifts with my in laws. Blake was so tired and grouchy and just didn't want to do anything but sit with me. Of course the grandparents wanted to hold the kids and open presents with them and Blake just cried and reach for me, so I'd take him and he'd be ok and then I'd hand him back over and he'd cry. Finally nursed him to sleep and he woke up in the best mood! But then we were in a rush to get on the road, so it just wasn't great timing for fun with the in laws.

Our fail is that I overdid it. I didn't think I did... But I totally did. She has been playing with the boxes and wrapping paper and ONE toy, ignoring the rest, and I feel a little embarrassed in front of my in-laws, especially because at other times I have emphasized not being materialistic with them. I guess playing Santa got the best of me.
