@dolphin: Santa fills the stockings 😊
I’m trying to figure out fun idea too! We always had toiletries and chocolates in ours growing up, maybe a small toy as well.
Whereas now as an adult my husband and I have become fairly particular in what we use and because we live in the country I always have our linen closet fully stocked... sooooo I may even wrap a couple things we already have to bulk his up. 😂
For my daughter (2) she’ll have socks, a book, some kind of treat, little toy.

Christmas at the inlaws is a little crazy so we are experimenting with just stockings at home plus maybe a family gift like a new board game. Stockings are definitely from us and were when I was growing up.

Filling ideas- glow sticks, underwear, socks, Chapstick, cookies they wouldn't normally get, stuffed animals.
For me add jewelry and chocolate. For husband some snacks he loves.

Ours are from Santa. They're surprises to ALL of us....and we have to be careful because sometimes I accidentally thank my husband for things in my stocking. :)

We do personal hygiene items: toothpaste, toothbrush, underwear, a new wet brush, some hair elastics. Then we'll throw in some candy or fun treats and a few small toys ($1-$5) and a new calendar for her wall. She LOVES getting the calendar!

Stockings in our house are from Santa too - he brings one gift and the stocking which get filled overnight. Now, my brother and SIL accidentally bought LO an 'oversize' stocking for her first xmas so we get to fill this gigantic one every year... like it's seriously 3ft long

We tend to put treats in the stocking - so some candy, favorite cookies, etc. Those little individual cups of mini chips a hoy or oreos take up space for us and go over well. Cans of play doh, a pack of new undies, and little toys also go in ours. We even put in a whole bag of clementines in the bottom to take up more space! But one or two go well in a traditional size stocking.

Of course, we went ahead and bought a second matching oversize stocking for future LO#2 (who will be here this xmas) so we'll do this twice over for years to come. I'm glad we did though because at this point they're not being made anymore and I really didn't want to have them be lopsided for size and cause jealousy issues.

Haven’t really given this much thought but DS will be 3 this Christmas and I do want him to believe in Santa! I think we’ll do stockings from us and save the Santa gift for what DS has told us he’s going to ask Santa for when we meet him (a crane truck 😂)!

@dolphin: Stockings are my favorite part! Stockings for us are from everyone - even our 4 year old gets to "buy" things to put in mom and dad's stocking and we put things in them as we purchase during the month of December. Our tradition is we all get an ornament each year, so that is the first thing to go in the stockings.

Kid's ideas: bath color drops; stickers; favorite treat (for my kid that is Oreos); bubbles; quarters (he loves to buy those trinkets at stores or use them at the arcade); winter hat

For us adults: favorite chocolates; alcohol minis; Starbucks gift cards; comfy winter socks; chapstick; nail polish; mini perfume/cologne...and whatever random things we run across.

DH didn't have stockings as a kid, but I grew up with them coming from Santa so that's what we'll do. Actually, when DH and I got engaged and started doing Christmas together at my parent's house, my parents got him a personalized stocking, and Santa still fills them all.

I honestly don't remember who the stockings were from! But we always had them filled with a little candy, then toiletries... toothbrushes, hair brushes, shampoo, conditioner, razors, deodorant, toothpaste, etc.

This year for DD we're doing some fun things in her stocking (little people! a book!) with some toiletries (hair brush! toothpaste!). I like that the stocking has some necessary things in it, and as teenagers/college students me and my siblings ALWAYS looked forward to it.

DH and I both grew up with Santa filling them, so that's what we do as well.

We always do a few toiletries- toothbrush or replacement heads, Chapstick, hand lotion, fun soap, etc.

In DD's we put things like new underwear, hair clips, a little candy (or fruit gummies when little), play dough, a book, fun socks, a movie, maybe some small toys... We try not to do too much "filler" junk that will just get tossed.

For DH's I will also do fun socks, little gift cards to Dunkin or Starbucks, a graphic t shirt, candy, beef jerky and other random little things i spot.

I think it depends... in our family the stocking was from santa but in DH's family it was from his parents... so far we haven't really explained it to DD, she's going to be 5 this year and hasn't really asked so I guess we'll let her decide :silly:

My mom used to always do certain things in our stockings, socks, new underwear, chapstick, make up, books, stationary, candy (cd's/movies--back in the 90's)

I kinda do some of the similar things.. I like to add in scratch offs in DH's and small gift cards (like $5-$10).. ties, handkerchiefs, nail clippers

Basically random cute/useful things.

I finally ordered personalized stockings this year and I'm so excited! We never had stockings before and I never had them as a kid either. My question is are the things in the stocking suppose to be from Santa or parents?? And any fun stocking stuffer ideas??
