I hope it works for you! It took about a full week for it to really set in for us. Day 1 was a lot of crying. Day 2 she fell asleep fast. Day 3 was a step back. Days 4 and 5, better. Then day 6 (0r maybe 5), another step back. Then from Day 7 or so on...it's just stuck. I've never had to re-sleep train her

I voted 1-2 days, because at first it did only take a day...but we have had to retrain through regressions etc. and that might take another day or so.

Hmmm could it be the big 4 mth sleep regression? It's a pretty bad one and ours lasted a month. Not sure how that might play into whether you should do CIO now or if it will even work but for your sake I hope it does!! Just came to mind since you said your baby had been sleeping well up till then. Just a thought!

Good luck! I attempted to sleep train last week on my 9 month old. He is so stubborn and refuses to give in to sleep training. It was never this difficult with LO1.

We ST'd at 12.5 months for MOTN wakings/night weaning and it took 3 nights. Good luck mama! Are you training for wakings or going to sleep?

Good luck! Expanding on my "1-2 days" vote since I think our situations are a bit different: At the point we implemented CIO, LO was waking up once per night. I think she was just ready for me to back off picking her up when she woke up; she seemed to want time to wiggle around and fuss for a bit. My friends who implemented CIO (for a variety of reasons) had success in 1-3 days. I hope it happens quickly for you!

I forgot how tough it is to do CIO. LO2 was an amazing sleeper from weeks 1-3. He just turned 19 weeks, but for the past few weeks he has been waking up 3-4 times a night. Which wasn't as much of a problem up until recently. The problem is that I was recently offered a job that starts in the next few weeks and will need to get some sleep to be able to stay afloat my new position. How long did I take you train your child to sleep?
