I'm honestly not sure if our pediatrician would have checked last time, but I was concerned and asked her to, which is how we found out he had some re-attaching happening. Check out your husband in cold water - it's probably similar! So you have to just push that skin back so the whole head of his penis is free so nothing tries to reattach. It's easy and as long as you do it from the beginning, you'll be all set. My pediatrician said you want to push it back so you see the deep purple line that circles the head. Not sure if that makes sense, but it will once your boy is here!</p> <p>Also, I don't think you have to start doing it IMMEDIATELY. We put vaseline and guaze on his penis for the first couple weeks while it was healing and I doubt you need to push it back during that time. Plus the vaseline will help keep things from reattaching anyway. It's after that that you have to start doing it. I felt so horrible. :( But Xander didn't seem overly concerned about it, so I'm guessing it didn't hurt him too badly.
