We are in a suburb technically but we walk quite a bit to things around town. At 3.5 the older child occasionally hitches a ride but almost always walks. At 3 she would walk most of the time but would need a break after a mile. If it is close to nap or we are in a hurry we still use it if she agrees but otherwise just for the little one. It is so nice to have when we are running errands though, I love having room for "stuff".

My son is also 28 months, and he refuses to sit in a stroller now. For the first 2 years, though, I used it daily, as we only had one car and my husband took it to work.

We live in a big city and do not have a car. The daily things like nursery school, groceries and the park are all within walking distance (10 min) but we use the stroller for pretty much everything else. I'm wondering how long your child needed a stroller? At what age was your child really able to go out and about and do errands without using a stroller? I know this will really depend on the child, but I'm curious. Our son is 28 months.
