I have the gt double and the wheels are worth it to me. We have taken it to the mountains, traveled with it, etc and I like knowing the ride is safer for the kids and smoother also.

@mrs.shinerbock: Yeah the bigger seats in the GT are important to me too since LO will be 3 when #2 gets here and she's already really tall so I want to get a lot of use out of the stroller!

I don't have any experience with the original, but we have both a single and a double GT (we bought the double for our nanny share.)

The adjustable handlebar was huge for me because I'm 5'11" and I end up kicking most strollers. We love the air-filled tires when we take the stroller anywhere off road. My parents' neighborhood is mostly dirt roads, so it's been a real benefit there, but also on walks and at festivals. It is heavier (8 lbs!) but it has a bit more room and holds more weight than the original, which was important to me because LO is 95% and the next one is likely to be as well.

@Truth Bombs: I don't have the double but I had a single city mini and upgraded to the GT and I absolutely think it was worth it. The wheels are so much better (especially in snow which is important in my area), the ride is smoother, and the adjustable handlebar and hand brake are really nice.

@Truth Bombs: It really makes a huge difference. And with his long legs, he won't have to worry about kicking it every time he takes a step.

@MRSJX3: Since posting this and doing a little more research I think I'm definitely going to go with the GT. My husband is 6'6" and I'm only 5'7" so adjustable is key for us.

To me it was worth the extra money. The original doesn't allow you to adjust the handlebar. I'm very tall and needed something I could adjust. I absolutely love my stroller!

Is the GT worth the extra price tag? Is it wider, or are there any other downsides to getting the GT than just the price? I was excited when I saw the GT but then noticed it's still not intended for running so I'm not sure if they off road ability is really worth it. But maybe for things like the beach.
