We used it for the first time at 8 days old, weighing 7 lbs 10 oz, and he was fine. It worked well. I think I started doing this around 6 or 7 weeks. I think her head might move around a lot without it but I didn't try it. We also use the Snuzzler in the swing for her. Honestly, we still do that half the time even at 9 months.
