In hindsight I think this was a great decision because there is no way I would wear a class ring as an adult. So, I think I will adopt the same policy. I am pretty sure every senior got one. I wore mine everyday in HS, probably half of college, and now only for HS functions since college. Mine isn't precious metal. I actually wear it now in place of my wedding ring, which has been too big for years. When I get that sized I'll go back to not wearing it. Mine isn't precious metal, so it couldn't have been very expensive. I probably wouldn't buy them for my kids, though. I thought it was this life changing, world is ending/starting sort of thing. I guess at the time it was. The ring was SO important at the time, the letter jacket SO important and SO cool. (my parents didn't buy me a ring or a jacket, nor would I have worn either past June 2000). Looking back at it now...it just makes me giggle. I've gone on to accomplish so many more epic things..college, grad school, a real job where I actually make a difference in peoples lives. High school seems like a blip on the radar.</p> <p>Some of my friends in college wore small dainty signet rings with their initials that they received after high school.
