I would probably toss it and buy a new one (ours was only $30 for 4x12' on Amazon and I love it), because those foam mats trap all kinds of grime and germs.

(I am normally all-in for used and hand-me-downs, but some things I would rather have new.)

FWIW, I mop our foam mats with hot water and vinegar when I am doing the rest of the floors.

I would take it outside, scrub with dish soap, blast it with a high pressure hose, and see how it fares.

We hit ours with a hefty dose of Lysol cleaner, then plain vinegar to disinfect.

I would try a scrub brush with diluted dish soap.

Spraying then down with the hose with a high pressure nozzle?

I would throw it out! But I am lazy.

Have you tried throwing in the tub and letting them soak?

My cheapskate self saw on a local mom's swap/sale site a foam playmat. I purchased it for $10 bucks... great deal right? I didn't ask too many questions because I'm too trusting because it is a fellow mom site (hitting myself over the head). When I picked the mat up it was package really nicely in a crate and barrel bag.

I got home and there is fur.... everywhere on the mats. I tried washing one tile to see if that is easy to remove... and that was a pain and it still had fur embedded in the foam. I tried the lint brush and that helped a little, but it took about 15 min to clean one tile.

Is there a good way to remove fur and dirt on the foam playmats? Or should I just chalk this up as a loss and just chuck the whole thing in the trash. TIA!
