@regberadaisy: I put them in with the dishes. Dh thought that was kind of gross but like you, I had already washed them and it's not like she pooped directly into the cup or something. And it's not like she has E. coli or something. So yeah... Maybe it's gross but that's what I did and we are all ok.

@Foodnerd81: I did a little Google and the dishwasher came up. Makes perfect sense! I'm going to do a vinegar soak then run it through the dishwasher. Do you put them in with other dishes? I'm thinking after I soak and rinse I should be ok to wash in the dishwasher with other dishes?! Or....no? Ugh my dishwasher is currently full

I put anything I could in the dishwasher and use the sanitize cycle, after rinsing them well first. Other things I just do Lysol wipes and good rinsing, or throw them out. Luckily she's only done it when there were a handful of toys- and that's definitely in my head when I'm putting toys in there!

@regberadaisy: I usually fill the tub with hot water and dump a bunch of vinegar in and let it soak. But they've never pooped in the tub so I've never had to do serious disinfecting, just regular cleaning every once in a while.

DD2 pooped during bath tonight and 75% of their bath toys were in the tub. Ugh. The good thing is they were mainly cups, bowls and pipes.

Last time there were only a few so I wiped them all down with Lysol wipes. This time DH is thinking an overnight soak in hot soapy water. But I feel like we need more to kill the bacteria from poop?!

How do you clean / sanitize bath toys?
