I agree that the smell is awful. I use it to bleach my kitchen sink, but that’s it because I hate the smell. </p> <p>I clean our bathrooms once a week. Just a homemade vinegar solution on the counters, mirror and toilet. I use Soft Scrub on the tub and tile floors. It smells very refreshing to me. If the smell of whatever chemicals you’re using is that bothersome, just switch them. I keep a daily shower spray, a magic eraser, and a grout brush in the shower. </p> <p>I've done a lot of experimenting, and I've found that if I use the daily shower spray both morning and night (the shower is used at both times), I can really cut down on any other cleaning. I use the Whole Foods 365 daily shower spray.</p> <p>When I'm taking a shower, I grab the grout brush or magic eraser and do a quick scrub (maybe a minute?) of the worst part of the shower, whether it looks great or terrible. After a few days the shower generally looks very clean, even if it started off looking awful.</p> <p>It's been great to take care of the shower as more of a daily habit. It used to be a project that would take up a chunk of time. Plus, it generally looked bad in between. For the most part, I just use one of the heavy-duty Magic Erasers to clean them and it works great. They do make one specifically for bathrooms with cleaning product infused into it, but I usually get the plain ones. If things start looking unusually grubby, I use Bon Ami and a cloth (on the tub) or scrub brush (on the tile). It didn't always spray the best so I also would just use a spray bottle sometimes. The kind with a brush head (not sponge head) works best. I stocked up on Wegman's plant based tub and tile when it was discontinued, but Seventh Generation tub and tile would work too. I use regular Bon Ami. </p> <p>I find the tub to be the hardest part. Counters, sink, and toilet I just do every few days with Lysol wipes in norovirus/flu season, and Green Works wipes the rest of the year. Those have to be done regardless of having a cleaner come and are easy to do while the kids bathe or the shower heats up in the morning. I have a bottle of hydrogen peroxide based cleaner hanging from the shower rod (the spray trigger allows it to rest nicely there out of the reach of children). I think it looks kind of cheap and not the nicest, but for this time in our lives it’s great. Plus if the kids slip in the tub it hurts way less to bonk that than a nice porcelain tub. I clean the toilet and the sink/counter when she is in the bath (not every time she takes a bath but generally twice a week). I clean her tub once a week, typically on a night DH is doing bedtime. </p> <p>As for the upstairs bathroom - I do the toilet and sink/counter twice a week typically the same nights I do the downstairs so I don't forget :silly: . I do it after I put DD down. I clean the tub when I am IN it to shower, is that weird/does that make sense? So I'll get in there, scrub, wash off and then continue to shower. But I cannot figure out how to clean the bathroom during the week. We only have 1 full upstairs, 1/2 downstairs. </p> <p>We used to have two full baths, and that was somehow easier, because I could do the master at night and not worry about chemical smells getting to my sleeping child, and I would quickly wipe down her tub after bath. But now that we are all using the same one, I can't figure it out! </p> <p>Plus we used to have a fully laminate tub (?) so it was easy to clean, and now we have tile WHICH I HATE... don't do tile, its so time consuming to clean!!! </p> <p>Anyways, anyone have any tips? </p> <p>thanks! </p>
