The cleaning service that I just had last Friday was $120 for 2 hours. We have a 2 bedroom condo.

They did a good job--I wouldn't call it a "deep clean", since it was only 2 hours, but they did a good job of the basics--the counters and bathrooms were sparkling, the floors were done, and everything was dusted except a few things like ceiling fans and some baseboards.

Update: I have finally gotten a good referral. I fellow daycare mom referred me to her cleaner. She is quoting me at $85/visit to come every two weeks. She will focus on bathrooms, bedrooms, floors and kitchen. The extra time will be spent on various rotating activities. I'm super excited - this is a price point I can afford every two weeks at. Honestly, if it goes well and I get my next promotion we will likely move to every week...

For reference, my house is 3000 sq ft, 4 bed/2.2 baths...

We have a service every other week. They vacuum, mop floors, kitchen, baths, surfaces, windows, and dust. They empty inside waste bins and take the garbage with them. If our beds happen to be unmade they make them too. Each time they do an "extra" service of your choosing like fridge, baseboards, wiping down cabinets, blinds, etc. This is nice because it means my fridge or baseboards get completely cleaned at least once a month or so. My service brings at least 2, as many as 4 cleaners with them depending on their schedule around the neighborhood. They usually take 2 hours, sometimes as fast as 90 minutes.

We pay $90 each time after $250 for an initial deep clean. We run our Roomba during the week and tidy up surfaces and counters and clear floor space before they come. Also have to make sure the kitchen sink is empty and all the bath toys are picked up.

ETA: our house is about 2000sq ft

We have a cleaner come every week for 5 hours. It's super affordable in Belgium. In the US, I had someone every other week. I have to admit, I love having a weekly cleaner!

Weekly. It's a little inconvenient because it's one lady and she's here for like 6 hours. Which I do think is a lot but she's on the older side - maybe 60s. So I let it slide. DH always wants me to ask her if she can be faster and we'll pay the same amount but I feel bad.

@pancakes: I SAH as you know. I'm gone the first 3-3.5 hours since my son is at school or camp, so I just find something to keep myself busy for that time. I'm there with her from like 12-3 and it's definitely a little awkward. She knows which rooms to clean first (while I'm gone) and then I just stay in those rooms while she's here. I know it's a bit indulgent to stay home and have a cleaner. But I like a clean home and don't like cleaning. :-) I like tidying and basic daily stuff (dishes, wiping counters and mirrors, stick vacuum, picking up ENDLESS toys, etc). But heavy duty cleaning floors and toilets and showers - no thanks.
It would be the first thing to go if we ever had to cut costs, that's for sure.

We have a lady who comes every other week. She's here about 4 hours, and we pay $85. She tidies up a little but we try to leave it fairly neat. She does the bathrooms, kitchen, strips the beds, washes the sheets and remakes them, vacuums, mops, dusts... she doesn't do windows or fridge or laundry except the sheets. If I could afford it, I'd have someone come every week. DH grew up with a 2-3X per week cleaning lady!! I can't imagine!

Oh in between we clean up messes we make such as spot vacuuming and mopping, wiping up after dinner etc. I sometimes clean a toilet when necessary and sometimes do a full house vacuum. Our house is about 2500 sqft

We have a cleaner come once per month for a deep cleaning. It's actually two people and they do 5 hours of cleaning. Worth every single penny. The day to day cleaning, we can handle, as it's just DH, DD & I. It's the deep cleaning that we just don't have time for and we'd rather spend that time with DD. So the frequency works great for us.

They come when I am working from home and I just stay in my office and out of their way (they don't clean my office).

@Pancakes: once I'm comfortable with them, I prefer to leave the house. I have always tried to find someone who can come the day DD1 is in preschool so DD2 and I do something out. I'm typically dropping DD1 off so I leave a key and check out on the counter.
@gotkimchi: We pay $80 for every two weeks for a 3bed/1bath 1150 sq ft. We pick up and do dishes. Every month would be $100/cleaning (since it's more work!) it is VERY location dependent and I recommend an independent cleaner over a service. Also, we found pricing was similar but what as included would vary.

We just recently got a cleaning lady and it has been great for us. I was tired of taking so much time cleaning when I could be spending time with the kids. Our cleaning lady comes every other week for 4 hours and I pay 80$ each time (Canadian). She does 3 bathrooms, the kitchen, dusts and vacuums. She also mops the kitchen and family room. Sometimes I ask her to do something else if she has the time. I still have to sweep the floors and tidy in between, but I'd do that anyways. It is great not having to clean the bathrooms or mop floors.

Ours comes every other week, two people, and it usually takes them about 90 minutes. They don't do a super deep clean - they're not washing the baseboards or doing windows or anything - but they vacuum, mop, dust, clean the bathrooms, and wipe down all the surfaces, and that's good enough for me. Towards the end of the second week I do sometimes wish they came more often but that's mostly because we have two sheddy cats and the cat hair tumbleweeds build up fast.

@Pancakes: They have a key. When I was on mat leave and needed to stay home while they were there I'd just go to a different part of the house, but usually I tried to go out and run errands while they were cleaning, both so I wouldn't get in their way and because I felt awkward about sitting around reading a book or whatever while they mopped my floors.

@gotkimchi: We pay $85, but I bet numbers will vary wildly depending on where people are.

Our cleaning service comes once a month for a couple hours, and does a couple of "extras" for us, like vacuuming the furniture which usually isn't included. We could DEFINITELY use one every other week though, so I am starting to think about getting other quotes to see if we can find a cheaper service. The problem is that our cleaner is "green" and makes all of their own cleaning supplies from natural materials....but I think my desire to increase frequency is starting outweigh my desire to have my house smell like lavender when I come home.

We have two women that come once a month. I wish I could do 2x a month, but for now even just the one time a month is a HUGE help. They are here for about 3 hours, and deep clean the whole house (except for the basement, which is finished, but I only have them do it a couple times a year)... i don't have them do any laundry.

We have a cleaner come once a month. We could really benefit from every other week but are trying to be conscious of costs, while also no losing my mind. We have pretty big house and she is usually here about 4 hours. It's an independent woman, not a service, who came recommended by a friend and who now cleans I think four of my friends houses!

@Anagram: I actually think living in a smaller space makes it more obvious as the messes build up. Like in a bigger house the dust or dirt is more spread out so it doesn't look as gross- but still is just as gross I'm sure. And having an extra bathroom now I do notice each one looks gross a little less often than when we were all using the same bathtub/ shower. I wipe down counters and toilets in between cleanings but don't usually do a full scrub down - but I think I'm probably kind of gross.

ETA: and I have to sweep the kitchen almost every day, and spot mop (with a bona spray mop thing) under the table a couple of times a week, but the rest of the floors are ok. We have a lot more carpeting than we would like though.

We also don't wear shoes in the house---but my kids manage to get food, crumbs, hair, playdough, random spills from who-knows-what-is-is liquids, etc. We have all hardwood, so it really shows when the floors are dirty--moreso than carpet, where it all kind of "hides".

We do every two weeks and it's great! She cleans the whole house in 2-3 hours with a helper. She doesn't do dishes (and we don't have a dishwasher) and she doesn't put away laundry or start a load with the dirty sheets, so I know that's on me. I obviously pick up but when my older daughters room is a disaster, she does a least put things into piles which is awesome. We've lived in 3 totally different places and used cleaners and I always find independent people
Because I feel like they do a better job, are a lower price for the same work because the money goes straight to them. I've gone through 2-3 people at each house before we found one that stuck which I think a lot is expectations and nailing down exactly what they're gonna do each time. When I assumed something was covered and then asked why it wasn't done, suddenly one option ended up costing more for no apparent reason but I didn't ask so that was on me.

I used to think it was a frivolous expense but we all have to oitsource something and I hate deep cleaning (aka, won't do it) but it bothers me enough that I want it done. And I'd rather pay someone to clean while I get to go play with my kids or do something for myself. The best feeling is walking into the house when they're all done and everything is clean at once!
