@travellingbee: I think you'll still catch your positive if it hasn't happened yet. I think it recommends FMU because that will be the most concentrated, but I am trying to schedule IUI so I have been using twice a day and getting the same results (except for one random negative this week in the afternoon, probably very diluted). For six straight days I have had flashing smileys, morning and afternoon, and that is so annoying! I am actually having symptoms now though, so I'm hoping it will be any moment now. I might take two more tests today so I can call my clinic to schedule a weekend IUI. :)

Good luck!!

I used the kit one time and we got pregnant that month. I took it on maybe day 16 (and not before then) and got a peak (or whatever the one you get before the highest one) and then got another day of peak then my high day. And based on my ultrasound dates ovulation was right on with when cbe said I was about to ovulate. So even though the test says to start before you are about to surge it was still accurate for me.

@travellingbee: I think for the CBE advanced you would need to have started prior to any surge (1st estrogen then FSH), to establish a baseline for the test to compare to day by day. Unfortunately CBE Advanced isn't very good for spot checking. I've been testing after my "solid smiley" with regular lined tests to see when my FSH surge is over. Hope this helps. :goodluck:

@Leialou: that's what I had been using before and I guess I should have stuck with them since they are less confusing...

When I used OPKs I never got a positive in the morning, it was always in the afternoon. I took them 3x a day because I was trying to schedule an IUI and didn't want to miss the window.

ETA: I used the Clearblue OPKs with the smiley face.

Okay I'm totally confused and I can't find any answers on the Internet. I've been taking the regular clear blue digital opks for the last few months (and charted) and always ovulate on day 13. Well this cycle here I am at CD 14 and no surge. No ovulation. I'm stumped, so I stopped at Walgreens and picked up one of the advanced tests hoping I would get some more information from that. I thought surely I have to be in at least peak fertility, because how could I be more than four days away from ovulating when I normally would have ovulated yesterday. But no it was negative. Not even a flashing :-). I thought maybe my urine was too diluted so I waited and tested again later, and that time there was a flashing :-). But then I read that you have to use first morning urine.
So I guess my question is:
1. Does the test have a memory that compares tests? Or is it just testing the levels of hormones in your urine?
2. Did I screw up by taking two in one day? Have you ever done that with this test?

Thanks in advance! I'm getting sooooo frustrated with this cycle!!
