@Honeydew: thank you!!! Another hber has graciously offered me hers as well.

I meet with the OB in the 13th so if I get put on clomid I will definitely keep it in mind. Thanks!

Good to hear many have had success on it. :)

It's our 7th cycle TTC and I have been using the cheapie with varying results. Some months it has been giving me positive results twice in a month. Time to move on to something else.

I have a Clearblue easy monitor that I had used for 6 mos ttc. I didn't have much luck, with it, but would be willing to send you the monitor for dirt cheap. "good karma" Let me know if you want it.

@LittleLashesToes: yah, I don't trust it with clomid. The last cycle I used the monitor this summer, I had like 12 High days in a row, but never got a peak, and never got a +OPK. It was driving me crazy, so now we just BD tons to cover all our bases!

@Sprite: Oh, OK. Interesting because I had a surge on the digital OPK this cylce, but no peak with CBEFM. Maybe it was because of the Clomid.

@LittleLashesToes: It is because clomid raises your estrogen levels, which is one of the two hormones the CBEF monitor measures (the other being LH). So it can give false peak days readings when on clomid. And clomid usually changes your cycles too, so if the monitor learns your cycles before you go on it, everything is thrown off on cycles when you do use clomid. My dr. told me I shouldn't continue to use it once I started clomid.

Wasn't worth it for me & those sticks add up! I prefer cheapies 2x day even though I have the monitor & sticks.

@locavore_mama: Well, I've been using it for a while and so far, no success. But, some months, I've forgotten to start it on the right day or have set it at a bad time, etc. and haven't been able to properly use it. It is helpful when it use it correctly, go figure!

I bought mine on EBay. There's no sanitary issue when doing so because the urine doesn't actually touch the monitor. You'll just need to buy the sticks separately, which I also did on EBay. They were brand new, still sealed, but SO MUCH less than at any store. You'll need to reset the monitor completely before using it. You can Google how to do so.

I'm on my second cycle using it and so far I really like it-- easy to use with FMU and like others have said, you can use FSA to purchase it. The sticks are expensive too- around $40 for 20.
I leave it in the bedroom on the nightstand and my husband checks it too-- he feels more involved instead of me having to tell him when we need to get it on, even though we are super tired... When he sees the little egg thing and 3 bars he is ready to go!
This cycle we were cursed with a week long stomach bug when it was peak time-- but hopefully third month with the monitor will be the charm.

I'm a really big advocate of the clearblue advanced digital ovulation kit - it's basically the same idea as the monitor - giving you "high" and "peak" fertility days by measuring a rise in estrogen & LH, but i think the difference is that it doesn't "learn" your cycle as the monitor does. If you don't want to shell out the money for the monitor, why don't you try using this first?

the first cycle i used it for lo#1 i got pregnant (after 4 months of trying without). this is our first cycle trying for lo#2 and i'm using it again so we'll see if it helps again. i like it because it gives me confirmation for when i O and so we kick it into high gear when it gets to high/peak. my cycles are pretty predictable tho so i don't think its necessary, but the reassurance of when i O is nice! i used fsa to buy it. if you have a fsa debit card you can buy it from drugstore.com and u don't have to submit any forms!

I used it when I got pregnant with DS on the first try. I think it was helpful to find out when I was ovulating and to time the BD but I didn't use it the last time we got pregnant so I'm not sure I needed it. I bought mine new on Ebay for $80 I think.

I know a lot of ladies on here have had good luck with it, but it was not worth it for me, and I no longer use it. Not only is the machine itself expensive, the test sticks are super pricey. It takes at least 1-2 months for the machine to learn your cycle, so isn't really reliable at first. And if you do go on any fertility meds, like Clomid, you can't use it, which is what happened to me. A pricey investment now just sitting in my bathroom drawer! In retrospect I would have just stuck with cheapie OPKs and confirming with digitals + BD'ing frequently or using the SME Plan.
