@PrincessBaby: Oh, also, you probably will have to use the seatbelt to install instead of LATCH, because it looks to me like you're borrowing LATCH from the two outside positions? Clek doesn't allow LATCH borrowing unless they're the standard distance apart (11 inches).

I have ours installed with the seatbelt and it's really tight.

@PrincessBaby: We had a Mico, too, and the Foonf fits in the same position. So I would think it should be the same for you. I looked a little and couldn't find anything about the base hanging off, though... I'll go measure my base from front to back and see what I get. Where did you read that about the Mico base?

Edit: Depth of my Foonf base is 14 inches.

I think you're good to go!

@allison: Thank you!!! So much!!! Okay the seat depth is 16.5 inches, and the space between the 2 front seats is around 13.5. But that's when theyre side by side. I wonder if the clek would fit if the passenger seat was moved toward dash? I sit in the back with her anyway...

Here are pics!!! Thank you so much!!!
Fwiw that's a maxi cosi mico. The base hangs off but I read as long as it's 80% on the seat and totally secure, it's ok. And I use the latch system and it's super snug..

@PrincessBaby: I'll help any way I can! What do you need me to do? Message the car seat lady?

If you don't know if you can have overhang (like @runsyellowlites was talking about), I would check your truck manual. I think she was helping me with this in my Foonf thread, too. My manual didn't say anything about it, so I took that as I *could* do it.

It is Sunday, so car seat lady might not reply...

@allison: Can you help me figure out if this will work? We are in a summer rental and there's no tape measure, so H & I are about to walk to CVS and get one then walk the 5 blocks to the garage where truck is parked. Such a pita but I need to order this today and my posts get eaten on the stupid carseat site and I havent gotten a reply yet from the Clek lady that I messaged...I am sorry to beg, but I dont know how much of the base can hang off the seat etc!

@PrincessBaby: August isn't that far away! Even if you can't use it in the truck, couldn't you just hang on to it until you can get your own car? Just make her sweet little self deal with the Maxi Cosi in the mean time. :)

You could probably use it and just not fully recline it. I think infant bucket seats are usually longer than convertibles. Our infant seat is much longer than the Britax convertible we have now. If it really doesn't fit well, then hold into it for a month or two until you have your new vehicle.

@runsyellowlites: It's a 2006 Chevrolet Z71...I think the Z71 is the full size silverado with the 4wd package on it. It's a big truck, but the back seat is kind of small. It has little mini doors on both sides that can only be opened when the main front doors are open...I REALLY hope it works. Thank you so much!!!

@allison: Do you know if the seat can have overhang?... like in the case of a small bench seat as opposed to a full backseat?

I think that would really be the only thing I'd worry about.... and can it brace/touch the front seats? If so then having the 17" may not be completely needed, but if it can't brace then yea, you'd definitely want to be sure that there was enough space!

@PrincessBaby: Like I said, I would measure between the two front seats and make sure there's 17 inches in between them. If there is, chances are you'll be fine. It might be hard to get her in and out of the seat because of the small backseat, but do-able.

Have you thought about the Combi Corocco? It's a good seat, too. Just doesn't have the longevity that the Foonf and Radian have. But it's smaller.

@PrincessBaby: What kind of truck is it? I can ask in the car seat group.. I know alot of the admins/techs/and members have Foonfs so they'll probably know.... especially if it can have overhang or not, which I think would make the most difference if you don't have a full backseat..

@allison: Well I can use a 20% off coupon that @chelsearose was kind enough to send me for albeebaby and it makes it $320! So I think I'm going to just order it. I'm mildly afraid it wont work (we have the small backseat with the 2 mini doors, not a full 4 door truck), and I'll have to pay to ship it back:( I'm stalling bc I dont know!!!

@PrincessBaby: I'm just now seeing this thread. But I would check the Clek website for measurements (or the other Foonf thread where Zippylef posted them).

I would think it would fit, as long as there's enough room between the two front seats for it to sit in between them from the back (assuming the truck has a fold-down front middle console). They designed the seat with smaller vehicles in mind. So even though it's a beast of a seat (super heavy), the footprint is pretty small. Fore-aft and side-to-side, anyway. It's definitely tall, though.

Maybe you could find one to try out in person? Or order from Amazon so if it doesn't work for you, you can return it.

I posted the full measurements of the seat in Allison's Foonf thread. Though, Im not sure that included the RF size within a car...

I want a Foonf too. I still havent made up my mind if we're getting it or the Radian.

Does the truck have a full backseat or just the extended cab bench seat? I would venture to say no in the bench situation and yes if it has a full backseat. It's a pretty massive carseat.

Can she hold out in her infant seat until you guys can find another car?

I think it's time to move H into a convertible...She wants to sit up more and I think the maxi cosi is just infuriating her on the regular. Plus she's 18.5 lbs.

Obviously, I love me some Foonf. Are you happy with yours? Does your LO seem happy? Is it the most massive carseat you could imagine?

Okay and here's my kicker. Would it fit in the backseat of a doublecab truck (in the middle)? Since I quit my job I gave up my company car, and we can't buy a new car/make a large purchase until we close on our house end of Aug. So H and I are driving my husband's big huge 4X4! And I want the foonf but dont know if that's going to work in his truck...
