I'm commenting so I can subscribe!

LO used to have no problems with nail clipping...then around 12 months she started hating it. I usually give her something to hold onto with her other hand that she doesn't get to hold usually (we have a plastic syringe from her newborn days when we syringe fed her formula/pumped breast milk to supplement her feedings)...and then I'll clip her other hand. It is a battle though. Sometimes I have put her on her changing pad and clipped her in so she can't wiggle away and give her something interesting to hold. I need advice here too b/c I don't want it to be unpleasant for her

LO is 5 months and dh usually cuts them while I'm nursing, it's the only time she's still enough. Not sure how it will work out when she's older though.

I just hold them down, to be honest. I try to do it when they are relatively happy...usually right after they have fed, first thing after they get up in the morning.
WORST. JOB. EVER. It's the only baby "chore" DH won't even attempt :-(

LO is 9 months so hes super wiggly - but he wakes up if I try to do it while he's sleeping. I find that if I fill a medicine dropper with water and give it to him in one hand while I clip the other signing Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer (for some reason it'd become the nail clipping song) he's pretty calm. Good luck!

I just hold her hand and do it as quickly as possible. Sometimes I take breaks. I have a cat, so clipping LO's nails is a walk in the park compared to my cat. LOL

It's a two person job now. DH holds his hand steady while I clip them.

I usually do it right after he finishes a bottle and sing him a couple songs...he seems to be full and content with sitting on my lap for a few minutes. I think he actually likes to watch me clip his nails now!

I use Sesame Street to distract her. She is super wiggly!

I just do it really quickly. When it's warm I clip them outside. It distracts her enough.

When LO was younger, I could lay him under our ceiling fan and he would stare at it long enough to clip all ten.

When that stopped working, Elmo on Sesame Street was the functional distraction (and basically the only TV he has seen).

Now he is so wiggly I'm contemplating sneaking into his room while he's sleeping to do it, but I'm afraid I will wake him.

Any tips??
