We discovered Hello Shiso hair clips/barrettes at a local kids' boutique and not only are they beyond adorable, they've been great for holding LO's wispy blonde hair out of her eyes (at 22 months, same problem as you).

Love these star clips, especially!

@snowjewelz: ha I feel your pain! I'm worried about the days she has enough hair to braid. I need lessons. :silly:

@SweetCaroline: Ohh! Yeah, I suck at looping it through to get it nice and tight at the bottom! And with rubber band AND clip the pony tail will still wilt as the day goes on lol

@youboots: @snowjewelz: because DD's hair is so fine, when I first started doing ponies and piggies, I'd mist it with leave-in conditioner first. Target had some baby friendly stuff. It gave me a little more grip to get it in the band to begin with.

I actually have trouble rubber banding my DD's super fine hair! I have a ton of non slip hair clips but I still have to adjust it here & there throughout the day esp since she's very active.

I'll have to look into these gummy hair ties!

We use Cherokee's hair clips. They're coated with like this tacky hot glue kind of material and is covered so it doesn't hurt their head and holds on really well! My lil girl is 3 months with fine hair and the clip stayed on all day! I'll see if I can find a link to it and post it for you!

@youboots: I got ours at Target when we were in the States last time. We got the Goody Ouchless Colorful ones. We use(d) the very small ones when we did a ponytail on her forehead ( :silly: ) and use the medium sized ones when we do two side tails. They work really well.

Another vote for the gummy hair bands! They won't tear her hair when it's super fine like that.

I use the Goody gummy hair ties to put in a small pony tail and then use barrettes. I've had good luck with ones from Gymboree and Crazy 8, but they don't stay without a pony first. I really like the plastic barrettes that they use!

For reference, DD is 27 months but had no hair to speak of until 14-15 months. It's fine as can be and slightly wirey when we take it out.

There's also a lot of good shops on Etsy, but I recommend only getting ones that they cover the barrette with ribbon. Otherwise, the clips tend to be rather sharp. @mrskc has a sweet bow shop, and I also like Free Babes and Little Numbers.

T is 15 mo and her hair is very fine but getting in her eyes. I got Goody plastic barrettes and they slip out of hair. DH does not want to cut it. Any recommendations for clips? Etsy, Amazon, wherever.
